Eden, you have a valid point. From the outset it was a protest party, not a party with tactical and strategic objectives. The audience to such a party is narrow, and the opportunity to grow and bring in more electorate is limited. My guess is it just fades away, leaving no impactful trace.

I think people will convince Eskindir to stay in the U.S which means Baldras party's days are numbered. The Addis Ababa electorates have rejected Baldras by denying the party a seat in its home turf.

Nobody expected Eskindir would start campaigning for the continuation of the war on Tigray from the day of his release. He had no idea Ethiopians had no appetite for another round of war. His ጦረኝነት means he has made many people doubt his future in peaceful politics. He came out from prison a different person. Who would have thought that Jawar would became very sober and grown up, and Eskindir on the other hand - የቀለጠ ጦረኛ?

Eskinder was highly oversold. His grasp of Ethiopian politics is not that good. To be fair I haven’t read a single newspaper that he published. I however used to read quite a few articles of his which he had posted on Nazaret. Com when the Eden’s uncles run the show. I was always amazed by his courage. He told it as he saw it. I however was not impressed by his political knowledge. I remember he used to quote the American early politicians , the founders a lot to discredit the TPLF’s politics. But his understanding of the subject he often quoted wasn’t that deep.
In other words, Eskinder doesn’t seem taking his time to study the subject he is arguing for. As an ordinary politician he might get away with it. But as a leader of a party or as a journalist he might not.

Both Jawar and Eskindir followed a great political strategy after release. Jawar already had broad base, Eskindir needed to broaden his base beyond Addis. And the only available space for Eskindir was the Amhara Fano. So his direction was the correct one for his political future. He shouldn't cater for those who already oppose him until he has a firm grip on his potential base. He needs a broad base before he long for support or acceptance from his critics. Fano and Eskindir complement each other. Fano needs political leadership and Eskindir needs a cause to convince people. The Addis cause is not enough to draw numbers.

Eskinder is politically naïve.

At the rally yesterday he was talking about how the flag with the star was not representing Ethiopia. He claimed that majority Ethiopians do not accept the flag and thus should be changed. One must be a moron to talk like that at this very moment when Ethiopia is in the middle of civil war, significant drought and undue external pressure. He has no or little knowledge of the intricacies of Ethiopian history, society and politics. Politics is not his forte. He is doing more harm than good. He should forcibly be pushed into Serkalem's embrace and remain there.
