The Raya people of Wollo are victims of genocide of the evil Tigray forces at least 3 times, in history. It is time to stop.

- The first genocide against the Raya people was committed by Atse Yohannes. He murdered the Raya people of Korem, Alamata to forcefully incorporate then to Tigray and forced to change their religion, even their own native language. The people of Raya has been in revolt since the time of Yohannes.

-Second genocide against Raya people was committed during the TPLF's forceful occupation of Raya Korem -Alamata after the fall of Derg and while in power. TPLF conducted ethnic cleansing, selectively killed males, cleansed villages.

-Third genocide of Raya people by evil forces of Tigray has been carried out since November 2020. The people of Raya have been under constant occupation and genocide by evil forces of Tigray. Raya people are the longest to suffer from Tigray illegal occupation, subjugation, harassment, and massacre. Sadly, the OLF-PP government is still helping TPLF to do all forms of atrocities against Raya people.

I once listened an interview on YouTube where the grand child of Atse Yohannes blatantly or ignorantly lied about the illegal occupation of Raya by his grandfather. The Raya people had never been under Tigray, only his grandfather was massacring, converting, and harassing them and had hard time to collect taxes, because the Raya people revolted just like those Amhara in Gojjam. His grandfather’s time was marked by forceful seizure and constant revolt of freedom fighters of Rayan. He had no time to govern Raya. It is even alleged that Muslim Raya took revenge against him in the battle of Glabat/Metema by shooting and killing him, although the Sudanese rebels later took his body.
