It looks like ESAT Ethiopia is turning itself into a commercial TV channel

Post by temari » 05 Apr 2022, 18:03

Does it succeed? It's hard to tell. Let's wait and see. But it will be hard to compete with other well established commercial channels as the brand is closely associated exclusively with politics.

It launches a TV series.

It is a Gimbot 7 and now Ezema media arm or ፓርቲ ልሳን. It may have entertainment, music or sports news programs. But it remains a ፓርቲ ልሳን. Nobody will be fooled by a couple of entertainment programs. Walta, Fana and Dimtsi Weyane have drama and music programs but are they commercial channels? Definitely no!

If it wants to change itself into a commercial channel, it needs to change its ownership into a commercial setup first.

The content of your scribble isn't my business.....I will leave that to Ethiopians.

One thing that perplexes me the most is though your audacity. You identify yourself as someone who belongs to an extremely backward tribe that has never been self-sufficient in its entire existence.....and even takes a pride in its parasitic nature and its debilitating culture of poverty.

Yet you're here 24/7 unashamedly dispensing 'solutions' to others problems- just like your bandits who had been busy blubbering for 27 years the 'misery' of Eritreans while their half population was on perpetual hunger!

May God Have Mercy On Tigrians!

It's called diversification; it's called adaptation; it's called competition; it's called expansion; it's called market penetration. In fact ESAT will greatly benefit from its citizen based political perspective because every Ethiopian has a political perspective. Those who believe in the philosophy of citizenship and humanism shop all things media from ESAT. Currently only Balageru TV stands to compete with ESAT in that philosophy. I can't wait to see ESAT as full service media - everything from politics, culture, science, arts to technology.

Eden, quindibu has a point. Try to slow down. This I know everything attitude of yours rubs people in the wrong way. I told you before, and I tell you again you will become another Yabello or Abebe b and you talk to yourself. Where is Abebe b anyway ? Did he get the gut to join TDF ? My guess is he will be back with a ton of “Alubaleta” pretty soon.

Did you ask the where about of AbebeB? From his truck record , I can guess - with 99% certainity that he is in a “church”
Do you remember the weyane “ዱቄት” era at about the beginning of the war? At that time he quietly celebrated a fairwel party here in ER and said he is leaving cadre life and will be a man of god for rest of his life.
Fast forward when CIA pulled weyane out of Tembien desert, the guy who promised to be a decon in church came back Real lucifier ( am not joking go back and read his scribble back then): advocating genocide on Amharas, bashing on the PM for betraying Oromos bla bla…. he came back real evil . Back then I wondered where he went and I was sure he didn’t go to something that look like a church and now wait a bit he is hibernating these bad time for weyane. Soon he will renew his commitment.

“ Weyane is a cult like organization “ …Hermela Aregawi

“Once you are a weyane you will never recover-it’s a sickness” …Seyum Teshome

I don't think this can be qualified as diversification or making oneself competitive, expansion it is also not.

To do such things you need first to establish in the area (competence) you were engaged in so far, and afterwards trying to expand yourself into new areas. This is normal and growing trajectory of any entity.

ESAT is not yet established Media so far, it came in the area of political activism and was struggling all along to stand on a solid ground.

The recent split of its employees (organization) and other situations around the media organisation don't suggest any sort of a well established media outlet.

It is trying to look for another field of engagement, gambling, we may call it, it may fail again, I am afraid. Reason is simply it is actually attached to a political goal from its inception and struggled ever since to hold foot.

This last attempt is another proof that the media is wobbling and its ground is shakky. If it was not, there is no any other explanation to separate itself from those well known journalists, en masse, who worked for it for years and managed to become the face of the media itself.

Everywhere you turn to, it is very competitive these days, without that competence, it spells the failure of the entity, be it ESAT or any other.
