Re: Literally building Greater Tigray inside his belly
The tigriyan elites are lionizing the fanatic monk, unlike him tedros and menilk were accommodating. He, out of hate for muslims he harbored, he massacred 30k wello muslims and thousands of tigriyan muslims. Hence, the elites should be ashamed of him and his barbaric deeds and they should apologize in his name to his victims.
Where are the rumusat or weak wello and tigray muslims? Why are they mum..quiet?
Weren't those who were massacred their forefathers? Don't they notice that for instance the fat dude getachew reda has an utter contempt for them?
Indeed weak very weak folks!!!
Re: Literally building Greater Tigray inside his belly
Wedi Keren, the guy was an ethnic cleanser long before ethnic cleansing became a fashion. He tried to clean Tigray of its moslems, but guess what? He paid for that with his feminine neck, which still sits in some dusty shelf in some museum in Omdurman. Now, his grandkids with same MO är trying this ag'azian sh€t on us, moronskerenite wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022, 14:59The tigriyan elites are lionizing the fanatic monk, unlike him tedros and menilk were accommodating. I agree. One of his blunders, he was a religious zealot. His own tigrigna speaking muslims were his main victims.
Unlike the wello muslims, the tigray muslims were lucky, they crossed the mereb river and made it to present day eritrea. According to a book authored by an italian at the beginning of the 1890s and later translated into arabic, the first batch consisted of 80 families. Upon their arrival, they sought shelter at gindA area. GindA was part of massawa and it was under the rule of the Naib of massawa then. Later they were followed by a second batch of 60 families. Howeve, after the death of yohannes, some of them returned back to tigray and the rest scattered inside eritrea and their descendants are living with us happily as we speak.
Selam!
Re: Literally building Greater Tigray inside his belly
Wow, that is interesting. I never knew that. I also read in a book written by a western guy living in our neck of the wood around that time about three young Eritrean boys living in a highland village, Adi Tekelezan, who were attacked by Alula soldiers, one was killed and the other two escaped by night to GindaE, which at that time was under the Turks, and later made their way to Europe.kerenite wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022, 11:06Justo,justo wrote: ↑17 Mar 2022, 16:31Wedi Keren, the guy was an ethnic cleanser long before ethnic cleansing became a fashion. Sorry for the delayed response due to the daily routine. I hope you won't dislike what I am posting the historically facts narrated by a contemporary historian below.justo wrote: ↑18 Mar 2022, 13:27Wow, that is interesting. I never knew that. Here we go.....
In my previous post above, I mentioned the contemporary italian historian narration of the arrival of the tigryan muslims in gindA area.
Now I have to add. In his book, he mentions as well the backgrounds of the origin of some eris in highland eritrea.
For instance he mentions EMBADERHO village located 10 KM away from asmara and in the way to Keren. He narrates that he met the chieftain of embaderho personally. His name was ras sibhatu, riding on a mule accompanied by 2 kids carrying his guns, Ras sibhatu told him that embaderho village was established about 30 years ago by his grandfather and thus they originally hail from dembiya, gondar, while his grandfather and family were forced to flee from dembia due to the tyrant atse tedros.
He mentions how the villages around asmara were established. He names them in detail. He narrates the background of the natives as well.
His book is stuck in one of my many boxes in my basement.

I know that there was some influence during Alula's time, but most of the villages in the outskirts of Asmara are at least 400-700 years old as permanent settlements, many of these villages are mentioned by name for example in the book of the Portuguese soldier (I forget his name now, Vasco Dagama's brother I believe), who came there in the 13th or 14the Century and describes his travels from Massawa to Ethiopia through Eritrea.
There is also a book by a Swede, I forget the name from the 18-hundreds, with extensive facts about highland Eritrea, especially the central highlands around Asmara.
BTW, there is nothing to dislike about history or facts, they are what they are, one just needs to discuss them in a cool-headed manner without sectarian agendas

Unfortunately I doubt it is in the net.
Yes, I agree with you, in his book, the Italian historian mentions that areas such as arbAte asmera, logochiwa, hazega, tsaAzega, zagir and some sorry I forgot their names were inhabited by natives who were living there since time immemorial.
In his book, he was concentrating more on the villages which are located in the environs of asmara. For instance, he narrates that shimanegus laAlay, shimanigus taHtay, adi kolom, Hadish Adi etc...are inhabited by recent settlers.
Time allowing, I will search for the book which is in one of the boxes in my basement.
Mis kbur selamta!
