Amharic should not be the working language in Ethiopia as it is spoken only by 10% of the population

Post by EthioRedSea » 10 Feb 2022, 13:03

Language forms human beings. You are what you speak. Amharic is one of the most less developed languages with little or no literature. It is very aggressive and not unifying. Geez should have been the working language as it is already old and would be used by more people.

Practically Amharic is not a working language. Tigray, Oromo. Somali and other ethnic groups use their own local languages. Tigrigna uses it's own alphabet derived from Geez. Oromo and Somali, which make about 50% of the population, use Latin alphabet.

Replacing Amharic with Oromo language if there is a need for local language is rational. Otherwise we can use English or Arabic or Swahili for the markets.

You are day dreaming. The wider population in the rural areas speak afan Oromo. Only those living in the cities like Adama or Fin Finne speak also Amharic, but use afan Oromo among themselves. We have to be realistic. Oromo will use their language in the future.

Kichamam woyane - What’s wrong with using Oromoifa? It’s an Ethiopian language and we’re proud of it. What’s forbidden is the existence satanic TPLF rats. KIFFU!

Injera and Doro Wot is from Tigray, not Amara culture. Tigray taught the rest of the population how to cook. Injera and wot comes from Aksumite Kingdom. Amara is Bantu settler from West Africa (nothing wrong with that). Amara have no culture of their own - it is all borrowed from Tigray (nothing wrong with that too as civilization starts at one given time and place - spreads to other localities and tribes).
