In my view, if we indeed care about the Ethiopian Orthodox church or any of the religious institutions in the country, then the best thing to do for us to defend them against being used by this or that body, be political, ethnic, region or otherwise.

Religion has none of these traits, it has to be apolitical, cross ethnic boundaries and regions and open for all.

What about those who decided to make the respected institution a tool for their narrow goal be asked to put their hands off the institutions?
