When is the Abiy government to start fighting corruption?

Post by Axumezana » 31 Jan 2022, 09:10

The government of Ethiopia over the last four years has been focused on cosmetical quick win projects like construction of parks, renovation of buildings, palaces and offices , Meskel square projects, plantation of seedlings etc. When are we going to see transformational work in creating a corruption intolerant, efficient and effective civil service? In the current Ethiopia corruption is rampant in tax collection, Kebelle administration, police, security, Electric power authority etc. How is PP to bring prosperity with the current level of cancerous corruption that is dominating the civil service from bottom to top . 4 years is the time a president stands for reelection in the USA and PP should not think they have unlimited time to bring change on corruption. As a final note corruption has increased by ten fold over the last 4 years compared to the time of TPLF/EPRDF time( which was already a corrupted system). What went wrong?

Fighting corruption is an ongoing process nationally and internationally. "Siishome yalbella sishar Yiqochewal" yiballa ekko. Even my former tplf cadre friend ato Ethioash used to say and endorse rampant corruptions for the pupose of accumulating wealth for the possible rainy days of loosing power. And exactly what the tplf did, as you know it better than me. Were were you for the last some 35 long years when the tplf oligarchs were milking Mamma Ethiopia deep down to its barebones and still suffering from the aftermath deep traumas?

Ethiopia has to significantly reduce corruption ( becomes at least within the top 30 less corrupted countries in the world) to realize prosperity. Corruption is a culture and a mind set and it's is not only stealing money but " thinking wrong things and doing them" , I call that a corrupted life style that destroys individuals, society, economy, ecology and politics both current and in the future.
