I haven’t said a word about Tesfaye when it was a hot topic yesterday. There is a reason for it. I haven’t read a single book of his. The only thing I read that he wrote I found it posted online. That has not been adequate material.
With a couple of articles or so I read I noticed his writing is good.
But that shouldn’t give a license Tesfaye to act as a renown historian and anthropologist. As far as I know Tesfaye is a high school dropout or graduate. With his limited learning his desire and “ confidence” to address Ethiopian history begs one to question why he chose to do that ? There are learned Ethiopian historians who have superior knowledge about Ethiopian history than him but sidelined or chose to be quiet.
But Tesfaye was bold enough to tackle a topic he was barely trained for or educated about.
That brings us back to TPLF. Without TPLF the “ giant historian” some of us made him to be has not existed.
Those of us who detest ethnic politics shouldn’t be willing to give it a pass if “one” of us is the one who is promoting it, but cry foul when the “other” is trying to do the same.

There is nothing wrong with Gadaa system. Most Gadaa fathers have been killed by Tplf for 27 years and the fake Gadaa are Olf and Tplf installed to tarnish Oromo people. The oppositon should be focused only on Liberation Fronts, Olf and Tplf and not what existed before.
