The deep hostility, resentment, and envy we see from present-day Tigray and its representative, TPLF, toward Eritrea go back centuries to the time when Eritrea was formerly known as “Medri Bahri.” Our forefathers felt that neighboring Tigray could never be trusted and that Tigrayans were generally treacherous, shifty, and untrustworthy. Hence, the term “Libi Tigray” or “Twisted like the heart of a Tigrayan.”

1. Some of the many crimes of the invader Alula in Eritrea 1879 - 1888

If we go back further back in time to the days when Eritrea was a separate entity known as Medri Bahri, the first thing that the Tigrayan leader Yohannes did after he was rewarded with modern weaponry by the British for his collaboration with the British Colonial forces was wage an expansionist war on Eritrea, which was then an independent entity known as Medri Bahri with its own ruler Bahri Negassi. He ended up pillaging Eritrean villages and stole thousands of sheep, goats, and cattle.

On 22 November 1886, he pillaged the Nara and Kunama, took all their livestock, and killed about 2/3 of them.

On 15 February 1882, Alula pillaged for 2 days Ad-Tamaryam and Bejuk and returned to Adi Teklay with about 7000- 800 sheep and goats, a similar number of cattle, and 15, 000 (Maria Theresa dollars).

On 12 May 1885, at the head of 5,000 troops, the Alula encircled 1,000 followers of Shaykh ·Abd al-Qadir of the Habab who was collaborating with Mahdist leader, Osman Digna near Amba and annihilated a third of them.

Ras Woldemikael, Bahta Hagos, Kifleyesus, and the Tigrigna renegade Dabbab with his Assawota fighters resisted the presence of Alukla the invader army (Erlich 1997, 11-16, 25, 32-34). The Beni Amer and Ras Woldemichael fought on the side of the Egyptians at Gura against Alula. The Italians were able to control most parts of Eritrea peacefully as the people were fed up with Alula’s incursions.

2. During the fight for independence
During the fight for Eritrea’s independence, tens of thousands of Tigrayans were settled in Eritrea by the Ethiopian Army and became informers and guides for the Dergue, penetrating Eritrean societies and liberation movement networks because of their familiarity with the Tigrigna language and local customs. Some Tigrayans even saw it as their chance to overcome their inferiority complex and were particularly brutal toward Eritrean civilians as spies and security officers for the Dergue.

3. After the independence

Although Neighboring Tigray has had a subversive history against Eritrea throughout much of its history, its worst behavior has been under Weyane’s rule, who has vowed to turn Eritrea into Somalia and has spent tens of millions of dollars to that end trying to sow discord and divisiveness among the Eritrean society much as it has done to Ethiopia through its divide-and-conquer ethnic federalism or Bantustanization.

Who could forget TPLF’s naked invasion of Eritrea under the pretext of a “border war” and the brutality with which it treated Eritreans living in Ethiopia? They were separated from their spouses and children in order to inflict maximum psychological pain and ensure that the families they left behind become destitute and end up on the streets after the loss of their breadwinners. They were then made to cross the border into Eritrea by walking through landmines. Some 19,000 young Eritreans from the Warsaw generation later died in defense of Eritrea’s sovereignty. To date, Tigray, in whose name the expansionist war was fought, is illegally occupying sovereign Eritrean territory in defiance of the Hague ruling. No self-respecting Eritrean can ever accept that.

1. Some of the many crimes of the invader Alula in Eritrea 1879 - 1888

If we go back further back in time to the days when Eritrea was a separate entity known as Medri Bahri, the first thing that the Tigrayan leader Yohannes did after he was rewarded with modern weaponry by the British for his collaboration with the British Colonial forces was wage an expansionist war on Eritrea, which was then an independent entity known as Medri Bahri with its own ruler Bahri Negassi. He ended up pillaging Eritrean villages and stole thousands of sheep, goats, and cattle.

On 22 November 1886, he pillaged the Nara and Kunama, took all their livestock, and killed about 2/3 of them.

On 15 February 1882, Alula pillaged for 2 days Ad-Tamaryam and Bejuk and returned to Adi Teklay with about 7000- 800 sheep and goats, a similar number of cattle, and 15, 000 (Maria Theresa dollars).

On 12 May 1885, at the head of 5,000 troops, the Alula encircled 1,000 followers of Shaykh ·Abd al-Qadir of the Habab who was collaborating with Mahdist leader, Osman Digna near Amba and annihilated a third of them.

Ras Woldemikael, Bahta Hagos, Kifleyesus, and the Tigrigna renegade Dabbab with his Assawota fighters resisted the presence of Alukla the invader army (Erlich 1997, 11-16, 25, 32-34). The Beni Amer and Ras Woldemichael fought on the side of the Egyptians at Gura against Alula. The Italians were able to control most parts of Eritrea peacefully as the people were fed up with Alula’s incursions.

2. During the fight for independence
During the fight for Eritrea’s independence, tens of thousands of Tigrayans were settled in Eritrea by the Ethiopian Army and became informers and guides for the Dergue, penetrating Eritrean societies and liberation movement networks because of their familiarity with the Tigrigna language and local customs. Some Tigrayans even saw it as their chance to overcome their inferiority complex and were particularly brutal toward Eritrean civilians as spies and security officers for the Dergue.

3. After the independence

Although Neighboring Tigray has had a subversive history against Eritrea throughout much of its history, its worst behavior has been under Weyane’s rule, who has vowed to turn Eritrea into Somalia and has spent tens of millions of dollars to that end trying to sow discord and divisiveness among the Eritrean society much as it has done to Ethiopia through its divide-and-conquer ethnic federalism or Bantustanization.

Who could forget TPLF’s naked invasion of Eritrea under the pretext of a “border war” and the brutality with which it treated Eritreans living in Ethiopia? They were separated from their spouses and children in order to inflict maximum psychological pain and ensure that the families they left behind become destitute and end up on the streets after the loss of their breadwinners. They were then made to cross the border into Eritrea by walking through landmines. Some 19,000 young Eritreans from the Warsaw generation later died in defense of Eritrea’s sovereignty. To date, Tigray, in whose name the expansionist war was fought, is illegally occupying sovereign Eritrean territory in defiance of the Hague ruling. No self-respecting Eritrean can ever accept that.

ስባጋድስ ወልዱ(1780-1831) ኣብ መሬት ኣከለጉዛይ ዕቝባ ንዝሓተቱ “ሰብ ሱሩኽሶ” ኣሳቢቡ ኣብ ምድሪ ባሕሪ ንአከለጉዛይ ኪዘምት ፈቲኑ ነቢሩ። እንተኾነ ግዳ ኣብ “ድንድዕ” ዝተባህለ መሬት ኣከለጉዛይ ሰብ ሪም መኪቶሞ። ንሳባጋድስ ስዒሮሞ’ስ ናብ ዓጋምኡ ኣሕዲሞሞ። ብድኅሪኡ ንዓጋመ ንኢሮብን ሱሩኽሶን ምስ መለኸ፡ በብግዚኡ ቶኽቷኺ ኵናት ኣብ መሬት ኣከለጉዛይ ይገብር ነቢሩ። ንግብሪ ወይ ፈሰስ ግና ይሓልሞ እምበር ይረኽቦ ኣይነበረን።

ለካቲት 14 1831 ኣብ ከባቢ ደብረ-ኣባይ ትግራይ፡ መስፍን ጎንደር ዝነበረ ደጃች ማርየ ምስ መስፍን ትግራይ ደጃች ሱባጋድስ ኵናት ገጠሙ። ክልቲኦም ከምኡውን ወዱ ንስባጋድስ ደጃች ሓጐስዉን መይቶም። ዶሪ ጉግሳ፡ ንሓዉ ማርየ ተኽአ። ንውቤውን አብ ልዕሊ ትግራይ ሾሞ። ሰራዊት ውቤ ንስባጋድስ ማሪኹ፡ ናብ ዶሪ ጉግሳ ከምዘረኸበ ይንገር። ሱባጋድስ’ውን ሕነ ማርየ ተቐንጸለ። ሽዑዑ መስፍን ሰሜን ደጃች ድሓር ራእሲ ውቤ ሃይለማርያም (1799-1867) ንትግራይን ጎንደርን ኣብ ቁጽጽሩ ኣእትወ። ውቤ ሽም ፈረሱ ኣባ ጃዊ ነበረ።

ብዙሕ ዓመታት ቅድሚ ሃጸይ ዮሓንስ፡ ውቤ ኣብ ምድሪ ባሕሪ፡ ምስቶም ምዑታት ሰብ መኸተ ሰብ ቡር ኣብ በለሳ ተሓናዅቱ ኢዩ። ጀጋኑ ደቂ ቡር (ኣከለ ጕዛይ) 10 ሽሕ ዘይመልእ ሰራዊት አኽቲቶም ንሱ ሓመደግዳም ዝኾነ ሰራዊት ኣኽቲቱ፡ አብ በለሳ ተዋጊኦም። ጀጋኑ ምድሪ ቡር ኣብ መኸተ ተሰዊኦም። ውቤ ንምድሪ ባሕሪ ብሓይሊ ኼገብር(ኣመታዊ ፈሰስ ክእክብ) ፈቲኑ።

ብ1832 ሰራዊት ውቤ ብመሪሕነት ደጃች እሸቱን ብላታ ኮከቤን ንመሬት ምድሪ ባሕሪ ብወገን በለሳ ወራር ከካይድ ከሎ፡ ምዑታት ሰብ መኸተ ሰብ ቡር (ሰብ አድግና-ተገለባ ማለት ሰብ አከለ-ጉዛይ) ቀደም ኃያላትን ብቁጽሪ ብዙሓትን ነበሩሞ፡ ዝኾነሎም መሲልዎም፡ ሰራዊት ውቤ አብ በለሳ ከምዝተአከበ ምስፈለጡ፡ 10 ሽሕ ዝኸውን ሰራዊት ኣኽቲቶም ገጠምዎ። ንሱ እንከ ሓመደግዳም ዝኾነ ሰራዊት ኣኽቲቱ ነበረ። መዓልቲ ምሉእ ከቢድ ውግእ ተካይዱ። ብሹም ተዓረ ዝምርሑ ዝነበሩ ሰብ ቡር፡ ሓደ ሰብ ብዝወደቖም ስፍራ ሃህ ከይብል ኣስምር እናተበሃሃሉ ትንጽፍ ኣበሉ። ቅያ ጅግንነት ገዲፎም፡ ኣለዉ ዝበሃሉ ጀጋኑ ጠፍኡ ክሳብ መጨረሻ ተዋጊኦም ደኣ እምበር ተሳዒሮም ኢዶም ኣይሃቡን። ዳርጋ ኩሉም መራሕቲ፡ ሹም ተዓረ ወሲኻ ተሰውኡ። ሰብ ሪም ተረጋሪጎም ኣማስይኡ ሓመደ ግዳም ሰራዊት ውቤ ጥሒሱ።

ወዲ ደጊያት ሱባጋድስ ደግያት ካሕሳይ፡ ንደግያት ሃይሉ ተወልደመድኅን ጸዓዘጋ ለሚኑ፡ ተፃይ ውቤ ንኪዋግኡ ኪዳን ኣእተዎም። እንዳብኦም ጸዓዘጋ ‘ግደፍ ሰብና ኣኽቲትና ዓድና ምሕላዉ ንዝመጸና ምውጋእ ይሓይሽ ኣይጥዕምን እዩ’ ቢሎም ለመንዎ። ደግያት ሃይሉ ግን ቃል ኣትየ እየ ቢሎም ኣብ ፈረስ ማይ ዝተባህለ ቦታ ብቕነ ጾመ ኣርብዓ ምስ ደግያት ካሕሳይ ኮይኖም ኣንጻር ሰራዊት ደግያት ውቤ ተዋግኡ፤ ተሳዒሮም ክልቲኦም ሃዲሞም ኣብ ከከባቢኦም ተሓብኡ።

Most of the EPLF members of the Eritrean National Assembly were not happy about the very cozy and personal relations Isayas and Meles had.





What about the arrest of an Eritrean Maj. General Bitweded Abraha by the dictator Isayas when he stood against Meles' offer to run the port of Assab? The Eritrean Bitweded was arrested by Isayas for asserting The Eritrean Sovereignty.

The Propaganda machine of Isayas known as 03 (bado seleste) was in full swing manufacturing Lies that Bitweded was arrested because of corruption, which was later dropped by the Government and he was released from prison in 1997 after the fvcking midget Meles gave Isayas the middle finger.

Bitweded got arrested in 1998 again for calling for the Rule of Law in Eritrea.
