This old man aka the teacher is totally right! Berberians /amazight are african! No doubt about it. As berberian from Algeria I consider myself as african and not Arabic ! Arabs was our colonizators as others people, we do unslaved White people in our history , that is why we became whitter but still in one same family you can find all colours, one brother is black his sister white his other brother is red etc... that is why the colour is not an issue for us: we do not discriminate people on the ground of their skin because we know that a white people can be indeed from our tribe! We are organized by tribes and we speak berber we call it amazight. At school we learn Arabic but our first langage is berber, this langage is spoken by a large part of africansfrom different countries, of course with some variations and different accent. The word Africa is from berberian word ifrikia, we have named Africa! Where there is a confusion for african with black skin is the fact this guy is saying ( the white one/ algerian) that he is arab! It means even for me who is fair skin he is not from Africa as he keep saying this false statement and if it is true he is not from Africa! I must explain this point: in Algeria there is two type of people : people who are from berberian descent and are saying i am amazight means berberian who speak berberian and Arabic plus french most of the Time who be long to a tribe and the second group who claim they are arabs who speak algerian Arabic plus Arabic and most of the Time also French and who do not belong to any tribe. The second group is lost in their own history: they do not know anymore where they come from for sure. If they are convinced they are Arab it means they are not from Africa. But the hypothetic reason why they lost their lineage is because their Ancestors decided to erase their identity to fit to « muslim » history, I mean they decided by this way to be connected more to prophet Mohamed SAWS to the prophetic lineage but this connection is totally build up so they lost their berberian heritage ( in the best version, in the worse they are from somewhere else) and they still keep saying this false story about who they are. We berberians we have decided to keep our lineage/ culture/language and be at the same time Muslim as an indonesian for example who is not an Arab but still a muslim. Who do not know where he is from don’t know where to go! We berberian we are the indigenous people from North Africa, we were black at the beginning now we have multiple shades of skin but still we remain African!!! We are african, one of the most ancient people from Africa, one scientist says even the oldest ethnic group from Africa! So I will never accept a darker african one day will tell me I am not african as I have fair skin : I know who I am and sorry for you you do not know the tribes from North Africa as all Africans have a tribe. I also totally agree with the point that africaners ( colonizatirs from Holland) are not african : they are not!!! They do not belong to any tribe, their langage has nothing to do with african continent! Their ancestors are from Holland: end of the story! Mine are from Africa! You should go to Algeria and meet different berberian group to understood, for example people from Mali will never say to a white berberian he is not african, it is a complete non sense, we are belonging to the same ethnic group! People should learn more about berberians especially africans with darker skin far from North Africa because it would be like an italian saying to a Swedish he is not european: it is just a joke!

This explains why the so called Kushitic idea came from. The older guy may explain well but The Olf, Jawar, etc are being programmed by Egypt, colonialists and this type of guy to tear apart African societies particularly Ethiopia. Kushitic or Semitic it doesn't matter, let alone this ethnically and linguistically people are different and yet remain and lived together this discussion is just another dia tribe at this time to bring such identity is futile where colonialists are using this for divisive purposes. Egypt also is playing Olf card as Kushitic and the goal behind it again is Nile and colonialism no ifs or buts. This guy seems to know in detail and understands unless involved even identity crisis in Ethiopia. It is lame to bring such identity issue in Africa at this time because look at the world where it is going and particularly eye on Africa. You are fool if you bring such disucssion among Africans, Berbers, Arabs, Hamitic, bla bla or not. So this is why Olf/Afar/Somalis abandoned their writing and embraced latin? Hahaha, is that Kushitic to embrace latin? very funny. There seem to be strategic organization and under cover as now why Olf/Somalia/Afar accepted latin writing as supposed to original Amharic writing. So, how many Kush are there now currenly in N. Africa who embraced Arabic which is Semitic!
