A mistake is an act of mismeasurement

We can measure GDP, inflation, budget deficit, trade deficit etc etc

We can measure loss of lives, property

We can measure Displacement numbers

We can measure international diplomacy and international image

We can measure war crimes, crimes against humanity such as mass rape, tortures, murders

We can measure media restrictions and journalists jailings

We can measure qualifications of advisers

In almost all categories, Aby has failed miserably. Unless you think Abiy intended to take the country to a worse situation, he clearly made mistake after mistake.

All these people who became the ardent defender of the woman here have been ardent critics of Abiy Ahmed all along, for whatever reason. The problem with all of them is also that they can't even put in concrete terms where their aversion against the PM comes from, except the common unfounded allegations of labeling him OLF.

They took this event also as an opportunity to take a step towards their defamation against the PM as if the woman was charged with "opposing Abiy Ahmed". I remember Worku Aytenew's comment recently on a tv-interview saying the PM made the national palace a free place for every citizen to take a walk into, without any fear anymore.

While claiming to oppose the PM they found themselves now opposing the interest of the country and with that they are also at odds with the people of Ethiopia at large, which puts them in a nerveous state of mind.

The so-called learned -minds who blindly argue that Abiy is beyond reproach, despite the facts right in front of them, is most buffing. Abiy has a lot of qualities he can be admired for, and some shortcomings that can be pointed and criticized for. For all practical purposes, Abiy is irreplaceable, but to crown him as an all-knowing person devoid of moral frailties, and those who claim they are more catholic than the pope on his behalf " and who demonize those who criticize Abiy's government are doing a disservice to Abiy himself and the Ethiopian people who they supposedly advocating for. Anyone who advocates and stands unbending to defend sacrosanct life is a hero in my book. Meaza has been doing that for the past 3 years front and center. One can be pro Abiy, still support Meaza on an issue that she dedicated her life for more than any other. Though expedience is the rule of the game in politics, there are few moral stingers who make us stop and think in the midst of unquestioned euphoria.

You might and should have a right to defend this woman or anybody else deemed to you defensible, but the problem with you is when it comes to concretizing your own claim. In wholesales you are good at, but when it comes to making it concrete, then you suddenly run out of steam, that much I can say from my observation so far on here of your rantings.

You can prove me wrong.

Anyone who is forward looking and seeking to get to the bottom of the truth can't take a side with the woman here and attack the PM of Ethiopia, a global Hero by now. Go ahead and pursue it, it will be in vain.

BTW., is this so called Ecuador also yours? Just wondering after reading one of the character's today's accusation under this thread, which is just a copy and paste taken from yours before a year or so.

You are unquestioning disciple of Abiy .. and you're within your right to be that. However, I don't get the vibe that Abiy wants to be looked at as a person without reproaches. However, it is an acculturation that we passed through for centuries and it is easy to get in that kind of trap. I can tell you without any problems where Abiy's successes and where his shortcomings are , but while you line up the reasons why Abiy is a global hero , why Shimeless is a supreme leader etc I haven't read a single thing you said what Abiy's or Shimele's short comings are. This borderless adulation of leaders and flattering them with hyperbola , and hiding their mistakes under rug is not the way of creating an accountable government. I have tried to point out to you that in order to be held responsible for security failure for people under one's jurisdiction , it is not required that the administrator to be directly involved in the crime . Failure to perform one's legal duty when one has the capacity to do so is a crime by omission . What you are asking is to find a finger print . I guarantee you even if one finds a finger print , you would come up with some kind of reason to explain it away,thus a hear no evil see no evil disciple.

I don't remember where I said or even implied Abiy or Shimales are without any shortcomings or some type of weaknesses.

All humans are typically with some of level of weaknesses and failures, I don't think the two are exceptionists here.

What I have said again and again is that the two, or more appropriately the party they represent in their function in government, is the better alternative from that the available palette currently offers.

You are trying to accuse them of failing to protect security of the people but at the same time you wouldn't ever mention who would have been in a position in the situation the country has been in to offer that protection?

There are prices paid to rescue the country from a downward spiral to the abysmal trough that was in the making over decades, if not longer.

The question of if we will get into it was already fait-acompli, the required measures were on how to minimize the damage.

The 2 gentlemen have been trying their best on this issue and as such I do support their efforts and give them credit.

But from your side it is a complete different take, you consider Obbo Shimales was supplying weapons to the rebels so that the latter can kill Amhara (and other moderate Oromo) people, as usual without providing any evidence to support the grand allegation.

Coming back to the current conflict and the achievements the Ethiopian cause has gained, it didn't happen over night, it is the sum total of the measures this government has been taking over the past few years that enbaled Ethiopia to effectively fend of the onslaught from ext. and int. adversaries.

Giving credit where credit is due is human and upholding the ideals of justice.

Defend a just world and that will eventually set you free, there is no need to get to a personal level and that is what I am trying to do, not more.

Aby told the people and the world he would wrap up his operation in 3 days, later in 3 weeks. It’s been 56 weeks now. Wouldn’t this qualify as mistake in belief and outlook? This mistake is costing the people and that’s what I listed above.

p.s. I do agree weyane leaders make mistake after mistake.
