US Government and the Embassy in Addis Ababa urged to Visit Unlawful Detention Centers for Tigrayans in Ethiopia

Post by sarcasm » 09 Dec 2021, 20:20

"The Global Society of Tigrai Scholars and Professionals (GSTS) urges US Government and Diplomatic Missions in Addis Ababa to Visit Unlawful Detention Centers in Ethiopia and Put All Pressure on the Ethiopian Government to Immediately Release the detainees, both civilians and former men and women in uniform.

Joe BidenPresident Joe Biden Chris Coons

* In this regard, GSTS has repeatedly appealed to the international community, including the United Nations and the African Union, of their obligation to uphold the basic principles of international human rights and humanitarian laws. However, these calls do not seem to have been heeded to so far, as evidenced by the continuation of the practice of unlawful mass detentions and pervasive hate speech by senior government officials and prominent pro-government personalities calling for total internment of Tigrayans in concentration camps. Further, many of the major figures in Abiy's administration, some of them holding American and European passports, are publicly calling for the extermination of Tigrayans residing outside of territories controlled by Tigray Defense forces (TDF).

* In light of the continued genocidal incitement against Tigrayans, GSTS calls on the United States government, particularly the Senate and the State Department, to apply maximum pressure on the Ethiopian government to immediately cease targeting civilians and release those who have been detained unlawfully and without due process.

* GSTS specifically calls on the US Senate and State Department to urgently visit or ensure that the detention centers, official and ad hoc, are visited to ascertain the safety and security of those detainees and establish an objective assessment of the conditions of their detention. GSTS believes any proactive steps taken, including visits by the US authorities, US senators, and diplomats based in Ethiopia to the detention centers is urgently needed to ensure the well-being of the detainees.

* Moreover, it may send a strong signal to the Ethiopian government that the US government and the US Senate will not tolerate any extra-judicial measures taken against these detainees, both civilians and former men and women in uniform."

Remember, Ethiopia can shut down the American embassy! Don't push your luck to far! America will not save you. Let me assure you America will not do it. And, you keep pushing Ethiopia, you can only endanger those Tigrays who actually live Ethiopian. It is all over, just stop it.

Just like when the US embassy visited the prisons where all of the prisoners spoke Oromiffa and Amharic, while their tormentors spoke Tigrigna. Right?

My recommendation to the spoiled diaspora TPLF kids is simply to behave to H.E. PM Abiy Ahmed ,which these same Tigre thugs (GSTS- GoFundMe scams) used to call him መሽረፈት before their were deflated. All those ccd by TPLF spoiled diaspora kids will not help a thing. Behave , leave all Amhara historical territories, surrender your hands to ENDF/Fano, learn how to live by working and earning, learn the abc of law and order.

USA lost its credibility about the well being of other sovereign countries prisoners when it started housing the so called criminals of AL Quida in Guntanamo, Cuba out of the jurisdiction of its own and international rule of law and water boarding, sleep deprivation forbidding any other entity to visit and see their conditions.
Ethiopia is a sovereign nation and it can arrest any unlawful individuals and put them in jail indefinitely. So is any other country. The USA sure is doing it in Guntanamo.
May be Ethiopia needs to transfer all the agame prisoners to Eritrea just like the USA transfer its prisoners to Cuba to escape criticism. I will even be willing to be the chief of the agame jails in Eritrea.
These prisoners are actually Ethiopians even if they are evil agames.
USA is pushing its luck.
It will lose its embassy if it doesn't stop interfering in Ethiopia's internal affairs.
