Leaders of the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) want Prime Minister Abbiy Ahmed to step down, and humanitarian aid to enter Tigray. The government wants Tigrayan forces to withdraw from territory they have captured in neighboring regions.

Well, he has been elected by the people. The humanitarian situation shouldn't be a problem. One of them has to relent. War inside Addis is very dangerous for both sides. If the war gets to Addis, what will happen at the end is everybody's guess, unless one of them relents.

Tigray didn't elect him. Neither Oromia where he run alone by systematically eliminating potential contestants from the election. In the rest of the country, PP didn't get 50% of the votes. In short his government is an illegal one. Moreover, PP is not qualified to even run in the election cause it hasn't met the criteria of a legal party according to Ethiopian election board. It never had a general meeting and elected its leaders witnessed by the board. So in any negotiations, he can't claim legitimacy.
