Tigray forces raped or gang-raped local women after attacking a community in the Amhara region as they pushed toward the country’s capital, a new Amnesty International report says, opening a new front of horror in the yearlong war.

The report released early Wednesday, based on interviews with 16 women and local authorities, is the most extensive one yet by a human rights watchdog on alleged abuses by Tigray forces after they entered Amhara four months ago.

(CNN) Fighters from Tigray region have been accused of gang rape and physical assault by 16 women in the neighboring Amhara region, according to a report released by Amnesty International on Wednesday.

Women from the Amhara town of Nifas Mewcha told Amnesty that fighters associated with the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which has been fighting Ethiopia's central government in a year-long war in the country's north, committed widespread rape and sexual violence in mid-August.

I would call it self imagery correction. I mean they are trying to uphold an image that they think they have of being unbiased, objective and well intentioned after hiding the obvious for months if not for a year.


It can also be another indication by the west of giving up on the woyanes and probably are trying to imbrace the realities on the ground by telling the truth.

The ongoing shuttle diplomacy by the African union, should not also be misunderstood. At the last attempt by the United states, to make the Ethiopian issue an UN security issue, failed at the security council. Because, many countries objected the initiative by the united states. And decided to handle the responsibility to the African union and Ethiopian government instead. The Ethiopian government didn't objected to that conclusion and that is the reason why it is allowing the Nigerian former president to do what he is doing at the moment.

Because they have noticed that all of these intentional and unintentional coverups and support for the tplf's flagrant human rights violations have been and is being STRONGLY resisted by all Ethiopians from corner to corner both at home and abroad regardless of the fake news and grand propaganda of the tplf and its enablers.
The unity and firm stand of the Ethiopian people and the Ethiopian government brought Amnesty to it's senses and forced it to speak the truth, finally. Better late than never!

The sooner The Better so that we may put the sick tplf anarchism behind and concentrate on building peace, tolerance, development, health, wealth and prosperity for all Ethiopians, Eritreans and beyond. Tplf's desperate and reckless behaviors proved to be the cancer in the in the body working day and night to kill the bodies within which it resides. Why on earth invade and practice mass killings, mass gang rapping and mass displacement tragic activities during this 21st century in Afar and Amhara regions, et.? This might be the top of the iceberg needing active further investigations. Seeing is believing! Why not just put down their arms, come out from the cold and ask amnesty because peace benefits most all Tigryans as a whole.
