Ethiopia & UAS
Abiy Ahmed is on fire, on a massive diplomatic offensive organizing the New Africa Order, the 5th global power after India! Abiy talked a lot about 2063!! 2063 is the 100th anniversary of OAU. Africa is going to become United African States in 2063 on the model of EU or USA !

This is not even a wishful thinking but purely a load of crap.Africa is going to becomein 2063 on the model of EU or USA !
We're already unable to unite people at country level, yet we profess our desire for a "United African States"! Bullshit!
This "United African States" rhetoric comes up only when African dictators who have nothing constructive to talk about meet.

Nobody expects you to grasp the extent and scope of the UAS vision because you will have first grow out of clan consciousness.

2063??? You will all be dead by then

Re: Ethiopia & UAS
I think that is the time he mentioned. No, 40 years is a short time. Ethiopia alone needs at least 20 years to become an industrial 2nd or first world country. 40 years to unite Africa into a single country is a very reasonable vision. We are talking about a person who 50 today will live to see UAS as one country taking a train ride to South African state for over night business travel. Remember TPLF ruled Addis Abeba for 30 years. For example, Abiy will only be 82 years old then... as Latin says Tempus Fugit - Time Flies !

Before you post a comment, make sure you actually do understand where the op is coming from, Greater political stability in Ethiopia or United Africa is good for ethnic minorities who cannot stand on their own feet. This is not even a wishful thinking but purely a load of crap.

I don't care about where he's coming from, as my comment is not directed at him in particular. It's the united Africa rhetoric that I rather find ridiculous as it's currently impracticable and that all Africans have been doing with this regard to date is paying lip service to the idea and airing empty bravado.
It's obvious PM Abiy didn't travel to Uganda to talk about uniting Africa, as he's finding it hard uniting Ethiopians.

Re: Ethiopia & UAS
You have missed the point, comprehension of the text is the essence in the reading process, let me explain it one more time, If you take a close look at the situation of ethnic minorities in Ethiopia and try to see the op’s perspective you might have a better understanding of the op’s point of view, Take a moment to walk in displaced ethnic minority shoes.I don't care about where he's coming from, as my comment is not directed at him in particular.
