Wollo are predominantly Oromo who long lost their culture and language.
They remain the weakest link with zero abilities to put up any kind of resistance.
They need either Afar or Gondari in breeding and change of their current gene pool.

Re: Wollo are the weakest link
---- Why are you writing on something you don't have any historical knowledge about? Silence on a topic that one does not known a thing about is a proof of the wisdom of that person. You have excessive irrationality and hate toward Oromo people - this itself tells volume about your level of illiteracy and perhaps the chronic inferiority complex you are suffering from it. If you respect yourself, respect others in turn. That is an absolute basic requirement of any rational human being. The fact that you write something reflecting of your inferiority complex using colonial Latin Alphabet does not mean you are educated. The end goal of education is behavioral change, does not matter what and how many diplomas you earned.
---- Having said the above, you really know a squat about Wollo or Bete-Amhara, too. First, historically Wollo is the heart land of Amhara. The the true origin of Amharic and the genuine flavor of Amharigna languuage is in Wollo or Bete-Amhara. It is the source of many cultrual assets of Ethiopia, ranging from musical lyrics and politcal empire of Ethiopia.
Second, if the Wollo people had not engaged in scrficed in the Ethio-Italy war, Ethiopia would have been one of the colonized nations of the world. About 80 % of the army was drawn from Wollo. The more than 80 % of the Ethiopian army being from the Wollo cavalary is a hsitorcial fact proving Wollo people are the bravest that defended Ethiopia from aspirant colonial. Third, anyone will laugh at you even to think for a second the Raya, Woldiya and Lasta people are not patriotic. The people of these region are ferocius fighter in Ethiopia. The bravest and finest fighters in Ethiopia, actually are from Wollo.

Thanks for trying.
Indeed parts of Wollo was called Bete-Amhara.
That was only a small zone.
And the army involved in the battle of Adwa were almost entirely Oromo. The 80% you speak of were Oromo under Ras Muhammad Ali, Queen Workatu, etc.
Those Oromo have long been Amharanized. Dead.

Hawdian,
Again, you are making another sweeping generalization and fallacious conclusion. It is true Oromos cut through large mass of lands and mingled with many Amhara localities in Wollo and Gondar. Oromo were part of the history of much the Gondarine Kingdom - and this is a great testimony of oneness and true Ethiopian identity. Since you exclusively focused on Wolo, the name Wolo is in fact is a small place named by an Oromo war chief, but is not congruent to the larger ancient Amhara land. The details are quite different. The history of Nigus Michael is very disputable - he is born of a maid not actually from the legal wife of the local Amhara chief. And the lands he ruled were technically historical Amharigna speaking, the details of the areas assert that. It is much of an exaggeration to say or make your claim. Perhaps, Wolo is the region with largest Amhara population still living with the oldest Amharic dialect. Being a buffer zone in the north with Tigray and West with Afar and Oromo, like any place in the country there were cultural contacts resulting in intermarriage, like there are intermarriage between Somali and Oromos or Aderes, or Amhara and Tigre etc. - other than that Wolo is historically Bete Amhara. The name Bete-Amhara exclusively belongs to Wollo, because all other Amhara sprang from there. In any case, the history of Ethiopia is very rich and complex so avoid such a reduction or oversimplification. If one talks of bravery and fearsome fighters it is hard to count out Wolo - they are fearless fighters. You could even see that now, who else could handle TPLF with 80% of the heavy armaments' for months when the regional and federal government turned to their deaf ears to the Wollo people? The ENDF and Amhara Militias were busy in Gondar and Afar and their jets, drones,, tanks , armies were there whereas Wolo was neglected. Unlike other fronts, the bravery of Wolo people was not enhanced by the support of ENDF and Amhara region. They deserve credit very much for the resisted far long which any other part of the country could find it hard to do so.
