It's is not a mistake. They want to use taliban to destabilize china. They are hoping the taliban will harbour the uyghur terrorists. But from the looks of it china has caught up with their evil plan and has started bonding with the taliban.

I heavily doubt that the US has left 75000 vehicles, over 200 air-planes and helicopters, etc., in Afghanistan!

Pakistan has very few Nuclear war heads. It is a danger only to its surrounding countries. The US has the most nuclear warheads in the world. More than twice what the Russians have, With the Star Wars program in place, even the Russians become irrelevant. Space weapons is another area the US enjoy exclusively.
