It is a genius of him to discover the amazing similarity between the encirclement and of Asmara by tegadelti in mid 70s and the starving of Tigray by blockade and encirclement in 2020/21. I grew up listening to stories of how people traveled to the countryside to get some grain and how the tegadelti used to take it away from the people before they entered Asmara. Isaias practiced on starving Asmara and perfected his skills to do it in a grand scale in starving Tigray. It seems obvious that Starving Tigray is Isaias's brainchild.

This truly is breathtaking thought process, simplifying the most complex issues in terms of really few relevant factors. He uses his world class analytical mind, combines it with his intimate knowledge of the population and politicians who don't THINK and arrives at stunning conclusions. He is uniquely qualified to discern what has been happening in Eritrea and how it's tripping up Ethiopia and the region. He has no match in the area. I have decided to read everything he ever written because I thought there was no way to understand Eritrea. He is great hope one day I will understand all the seemingly nonsense Eritrean society and the political history.
