Every body knows that the GERD dam was a political project initiated by the late midget Meles Zenawi to garner amhara support after he failed miserably to deliver Assab on a silver plate and obey their thirst. Also, From the start, It was given that the Egyptians would oppose the construction of the dam and it was also given that the Amhara would defend their country and thereby rally behind the late midget Meles Zenawi, at least, that was the calculation of the late midget. But GOD has other plans. The late Midget is dead and the Avalanche which swept away the leeches never came from amhara but from Qeero Oromos and the rest is history. All of a sudden, the political project became an economical project.

Because it was a political project, The GERD dam is exposed to aerial bombing with no defense layers to protect it. Certainly, the Ethiopian water minister cooled the Egyptians in the security council but Ethiopia needs to do more in the diplomatic and military sphere to defend its project before it is too late.

Two corrections here,

1 - The late midget started the GERD not because of Aseb as you said but due to the fear of Arab spring which reached our neigbhour sudan.

2 - Areal bombardment of the the GERD is possible but it will be more damaging to Sudan & Egypt than Ethiopia. At this stage, if it is bombed. That leaves the option for ground invasion and i believe the untold reason for the core ENDF pull out from Tigray is to get redeployed in the West around the Dam. This is also plausible since we are seeing regional militias are being redeployed to tigray to check on weyannes than the ENDF

More corrections
1. The dam was the brain child of the late king
2. Amhara is content with Asab being Eritrean. It is TPLF's dream to make Asab part of independent greater Tigray. Amhara are not singly affected by Asab. You have to remember that TPLF's original struggle was to create greater Tigray by stealing lands from adjacent regions of Eritrea and Ethiopia.
3. The struggle to overthrow TPLF's hegemony on power was waged by all Ethiopians, not just the great Oromo people.

As the spokesman Dina Mufti has used Newton's third law : For every action, there is an equal and opposite reactionbm. Since Sudan is going to be used as stage to attack Ethiopia it going to get a double whammy by water fluid and military strike. Egypt going to lose in short and long term if it decide to engage in conflict with Ethiopia. But as you say no assumptions but preparation saves the day.
