My dear Ethiopian brothers and sisters, do not let these Eritrean Tigraways confuse you by the common name they have with their brethren to the south giving you a wrong information.
The problem now you have is with how you pronounce it when you read Tigre in English. Allow me to solve this for all of ya.
Tigre/ ትግር is a separate ethnic and linguistic group lives only in Eritrea . Mainly Muslims.
The another one and the most common one is Tigre/ትግሬ, is an ethnic group that speaks Tigrinya language, these people are living both in Ethiopia and Eritrea sharing the same ancestry and DNA.
eg. Cigar, Aba, Deqiarawit, axumzena, Fiameta, Halafi they are all Belong to ethnic Tigre/ትግሬ. Plural form ትግሬዎች.
So don’t mix up ትግሬ with ትግር. I hope this clears the confusion.

I used to think Tigrinya was one language until Eritreans on mereja said they couldn’t understand Tigrinya from Ethiopia
Does any Eritrean understand this?
