During this July 4th week, many things happened – election, parliamentary session, the 2nd filling of the GERD, UNSC meetings on Ethiopia and unilateral cease fire by Ethiopian troops.

Why do these multiple events happen at the same time? Is it a case of random coincidence or a well- planned deliberate stratagem? I believe that it was an intentional and brilliant tactic. Here is why?

What is the central objective, the singular priority of the Abiy regime? It is the filling, completion and operationalization of the GERD. It is the mother of all objectives and the core of the Ethiopian Agenda.

The Egyto-Sudanese military and diplomatic alliance stood against this core Ethiopian project. This alliance had held joint military exercise and Egypt could have any number of hidden possible actions against this Ethiopia objective.

And there is the Arab-America unholy alliance to disrupt and thwart the project.

In short, Abiy and his generals don’t know the true motives and possible actions of Egypt and Sudan. The same could be said of US/EU hidden plans.

Then the tactical thinking ability of the Abiy team was to create a believable visibly convincing diversion and camouflage for the defense and filling of the GERD.

What did they do?

The first brilliant deception was to use America’s own demand of ceasefire and carry out massive troop movement to free up forces from the Tigre theater and make them available for the defense of the GERD.

While they did these troop movements, they injected an elements of defeat and created a perception of weakness and disarray to lull, trick and disinform enemy calculations.

As a result of this brilliant deception, Egyptians, Sudanese, Tigres, Americans were all dancing the night away over the supposed Ethiopian debacle. Witness the joy and drama of Egyptian media showing images of the so called Ethiopian POWs.

While the enemy danced and celebrated on the false Ethiopian debacle, masters of the Nile were actually filling the GERD!

With this brilliant act all surrounded by election results, regime legitimation, parliamentary session, the diplomatic coup on the Tigre chaos, the preempted nullification of the UNSC meeting this week, Ethiopia has soundly defeated Egypt and its backers.

From now on, Egypt’s Nile diplomacy has no purpose and no strategic goal. The GERD is beyond any threat of attack or stopping.

With this brilliant move, Sudan’s tragic slavish service to Egypt is rendered meaningless and she is back to our historic border dispute.

With this brilliant move all European mercenaries, US/EU anti-Ethiopian policy and the colonial water carriers – Finland & Ireland and others are exposed and given notice.

This is the art of time at its best.

As we speak, Ethiopia acts in Tigre from the position of justice and strength, we had an election that will lead to a more legitimate regime, a stronger nation, stronger country, stronger army, a more harmonious interparty relations and a GERD that will soon begin to give us light.

It is all about stratagem – timing, deception and mental superiority over the enemy!

Sadly, ‘abiy’s & his generals stratagem & deception’ is against Ethiopia & Ethiopians.. how they start and end the war in Tigray. After calling ‘tplf a terrorist organization’, now wanting to ‘negotiate’ ... filling the dam doesn’t need deception, it’s Ethiopia’s right. There was no deception about it.. I wonder when will you stop being a YES man for everything Abiy is doing against the interests of Ethiopia& Ethiopians?? When will you start to question? What does it take for you guys to open your eyes??

Let’s agree to disagree on some aspect of who started the war.. but one thing is clear here. The abiy government lied to Ethiopians & the international community that Eritrea- a foreign army, was NOT on Ethiopia’s soil. Went on to lie for five month, even though, general Belay of the Northern command, admitted & was bitter about it..

Here we are again, told on June 28, Monday night, ‘we have decide to withdraw our troops so that they can use the season to farm..’ really? From the start the government has lied!! That’s the hard fact we need to swallow.. let’s question for the good of our country instead of just following aratkilo

That is the main point. We don’t leave it as such. Our approval or disapproval of the Abiy’s government doing depends on our understanding of who started the war. The great majority of Ethiopians, except the TPLF cadres, I am not suggesting you are, have believed TPLF started it.
As for the Eritreans involvement the TPLF loved it, and they sought it to happen otherwise what meaning it has had to fire rockets towards Asmara.

Why? Does it really matter that now? Don’t you think our approval should be based on how it was handled as well? Or why our government is OKay and inviting a negotiation with tplf? Which few weeks ago was written ‘a terrorist group’ by the parliament? Which many Ethiopians despised and removed it from power? Why??

I do not recall a negotiation was called with TPLF. As I understand the TPLF guys are still wanted by law.

Abiy has said ‘government will be open to come to the table with lower level tplf members who is asking just for that..’ also Demeke Mekonen has asked western diplomats in Addis to play a good part in bringing tplf to the table.. hence Somali regional government- Mustefe and nama’s newly elected officials are rejecting the government’s call to negotiate with tplf.. stating the abiy’s government itself ‘has declared tplf as a terrorist organization’!

Oh pls.. I don’t need to read b/n the lines.. I heard it laud and clear ‘tplf is a terrorist organization’ end of story. Let’s not make this about a person called Abiy. It’s about our country.. government come and go.. but we should demand Ethiopia’s interest, territory and kibir is respected, regardless of who is leading the country.. we should open our eyes for the sake of our country instead of idolizing a leader who we barely know of.. sad!

I have so many reservations about the current government and its so many unholy intentions that have been checked by events happening outside of its control. Until the ignition of the war by the miscalculation of TPLF halfwits, the Abiy administration was willing to concede on so many things that could have far reaching consequences on some communities in the immediate terms and on to the century at large in the long run. However, now that TPLF and its Western backers won't be settled short of ousting the government in 4 killo, the problem has grown to be existential to the political elites of the PP fulcrum holders.

The Abiy administration's move as of late has caught off guard the TPLF mercenaries and their lords in the West, primarily the deep state actors in the State Department. Knowing fully well that TPLF would reject the diplomatic efforts (as witnessed by their 7 point Wishlist), the Feds are now acting as a party which is working towards peace and cessation of hostilities that potentially portrays TPLF as the belligerent party. This move if anything buys time for the Feds to hammer out the next move to neutralize or minimize the multi-front immediate threats coming from multiple actors.
