Some might say why are you telling us this ? What is its relevance ? It is extremely important because if someone powerful loses everywhere the chance that he tries to score somewhere becomes greater. That is why we have heard Biden say : I am not going to stand by while Tigray, the shithole of all shitholes ....gets massacred and dies of hunger.

Abe,
Precisely. There is a fundamental principle (law of behavior) in philosophy of action. It says that if a person can't do what he wants to do, then he will do what he can. That is exactly what you are saying. If America can't defeat the Russo-China alliance in the pacific, it will try to do it in the Horn because we are weak and lacking maritime power. In other words, America can invade Ethiopia to test the Russo-Chinese response and resolve. A long time ago I had called all of this an America impending quagmire. My prediction is if US involves militarily in Ethiopia, we will make sure that it is kicked out of Africa.

I am not sure of they have the stomach or the public will to go in to a war that is so foreign to the American public. What do they gain by going to a full scale war against Ethiopia ?and possibly against Eritrea too? when in fact the Abiy administration is willing to work with them on common interests? Just so TPLF can come back to power ? It is the most improbable expectation but not not impossible.
My fear is the government in Addis would cave in too much and ultimately devour itself before it had a chance to know what is happening. If the government stands firm and rejects their ridiculous demands while daring them to supply more food aid to the needy in the region, then they would be forced to shoulder the burden and rethink their strategy.
The S. Rice patronage and their terror in-chief buddies should know that there is nothing anybody can do to re-install the bandits who are not even able to control their own mini region as we speak. There is too much vacuums which could be filled by any number of actors. The horn is now in a new political reality contrary to what the west is so desperately trying to create. If the West is to have its ways, the world will end up in entertaining a much bigger problem than they would like to imagine.
Say no to bullies !!
