When the conflict started it was between Abiy administration and TPLF leaders. But now because of the way the war was conducted followed by Eritrean Tegraways involvement in killing spree and human right abuse, the war now turned out to be between Abiy's Mekelekaya and the Tigray people.

Dergue's government was composed of Aderbay Amharas and Gobenas, yet advised to have a peaceful settlement through negotiation for the northern conflict but failed to listen and we know the rest. Here we are thirty years later Gobenas and those Aderbays back in power and very likely history to repeat itself.

Me too, I am not an expert but it looks to me that most of the Ethiopian military was deployed to across Ethiopia due to the election security concerns which the government in my view wrongly thought was very high. I can also personally tell you that huge part of the army is also deployed at the Ethio-Sudan border due to the filling of the dam and border dispute. When the army left many places in Tigray, of course those Tigray Liyu who were either hiding in their homes or in caves came out and did some attack and also danced in public as usual.

Now the election is over, I will give them 2-3 weeks and we won't be seeing much "victory" news. That is my take. I don't think TDF has what it takes to fight and control a town let alone to win the war. May be I am wrong but from the woyanes I know, they invest everything on propaganda and images and videos rather than on the actual thing. I think in the next few weeks when the army is fully back to Tigray, we will be hearing another story.

The very fact that the government moved the military out of Tigray for the election tells me it doesn't think TDF is a high danger anymore. The next few weeks will tell us if I'm wrong or not. Never forget that woyanes are born liars and that they will do anything to get some media attention for a day or two. I will take them seriously if they start to control a town after a real battle and hold on it. Until then, it is mostly about for few day propaganda consumption, nothing else.

I really do not understand why DTT is “ panicked” about this video. It is a “show” designed for the international media and the West. They are saying we are alive. Please try to make a negotiation between us and the Abiy government. The US State Department says exactly the same thing today . Is it happening without any coordination ? I personally do not think so.
Talk about the video. The majority of those in attendance were not fighters. They were there to be part of the drama. They were there to spice up the show. When the show had ended, they would have been fled the area in lightening speed.

All of you who replied please read my short message again. I said, if the video is real, then I also said that they even dared to gather, aber gathering doesn't necessarily mean also got a spirit of fighting. So, I wanted to mean that I didn't expecte them gathering on that scale.

If I put "if the video is real" I also wanted to exclude the scenario of public stunt, which many of you are stipulating here to be the case.

I also understand that the Ethiopian military is carrying a heavy weight right now and overstretched, unfortunately, but we will come out stronger after all is over.

This reminds me of the 2005 election. Woyane managed to get thousandth of supporters to Mesquel square to the extent that people were unable to move around. Then Kinijit brought twice the size of Woyanes crowd the next day, including those same people that showed up for woyane leeches the day before. The most powerful country in the world was forced to leave Vietnam, both USA and the Russians had to leave Afghanistan. Ethiopia does not have the economy or military strength to deal with guerilla warfare. The TPLF victory you hear today is temporary, but in the long run, Ethiopia will be ravaged. Killing and raping citizens is much much worse. It destroys the county's fabric permanently. The worse is yet to come unless some kind of political solution is found.

There was something fishy that came out, when I saw this video.

The children of the poor man are dying, we don't understand about what is going on?

How came that amount of ENDF members be captured and paraded by a ragtag group that had no access what so ever to the external world for over 8 months??

I do understand that the military is paying heavy price to defend the country and its future and I don't feel morally entitled to comment about its incompetencies here.

Now it is time to suspect everybody, specially the extremists, in the society.
