This guy who goes by the nick Horus is so deluded. He thinks Eritreans could happily surrender their statehood which was achieved at an enormous price. He doesn't understand the resolve of Eritreans. Maybe he relies on a false info that Andargachew and Berhanu Nega fed him.
He shouldn't look no further than the reaction we witnessed recently after the khat addicted ambassador uttered his infamous words. Eritreans from all walks of life irrespective of their political stand were really irritated by the sheer disrespect to our martyrs. Talk is cheap ... Horus (as a political and social scientist ) could write volumes about the 'inevitable' reunification of mama Ethiopia (if it can stay in one piece for so long) with 'weak' Eritrea, but in reality his words will mean nothing to us Eritreans.

Eritreans.

The pull force is the force of value-creation and optimization; similar to the one that had switzerland opt to bond itself with Germany and France. But in the sense of the horn, there is an anti value-creation force of amharism, Tedla Haile Ethiopianism that is pushed by the Gurage/Abiy duo than by the amhara themselves.

That is why when litteraly all the amhara and oromo parties are calling for a National Reconciliation arrangement, The Gurage and Abiy are going ahead with the election and forcing a self-legitimization so that they impose a Tedla Haile on the people of ethiopia.

As usual, Horus gets the vocabulary but misses the essence because he has a devious intent behind!

No, I don't miss the essence of politics. I grasp both vocabulary, symbolics and practice of politics. Nor do I hide my intention why I am in politics. I have posted my definition of what Ethiopia is about on this forum many, many times and here in my intention.

Horus's definition of the Ethiopian purpose, the Ethiopian Agenda:

one: Ethiopia wants to build a united, stable, & strong country, state, & government.

Two: Ethiopia wants to be a democratic, free & just society.

Three: Ethiopians want to become a prosperous, educated & healthy thriving people.

Four: Ethiopia wants to grow a creative, ecological & spiritual culture.

I, Horus don't like to mince words, Ditto.

As for the June 21 election, my position has been clear from day one. What are my thoughts?

1. Ethnocracy is not a form of democracy. The former is rule by ethnicity, the latter is rule by people (and rule of law in a representative democracy)

2. Ethnic parties are not true political parties, they pseudo parties. So, any political process where there are ethnic based parties, there will be no democratic process. It is simply an ethnocratic or tribal process.

3. Politics is a battle, a war, a struggle, a game played by peaceful means and all armed groups trying to appear as elements of a modern political process is fake. Units such as TPLF, OLF, bla bla are belong to pre-democratic primitive feudal and authoritarian past.

4. Democracy is a methodology, it is a way of people organizing their society, state and government. It is a process, it is historical, it is a culture. It must be planted, cultivated and developed. Hence, the June 21, 2021 election a glorious first experiment towards that effort.

My expectation is if only 1/3 of the nation experiences a free and fair election during this cycle, I will consider it a smashing success. It is that 1/3 of the nation that will exemplify and educate the other 2/3 for next elections.

5. Those who are parroting transitional bla bla are those who failed to engage successful elite bargaining and who seek political office without being elected. Well, now the rule is this: do you want a political office, then get elected by one man one vote in your legal geography through collectively set rules of the game.

That is all.

Ethiopia is still a tribal based state, a tribal constitution, and tribal federation. Those who want to see democracy will get rid of tribalism as an organizing principle of politics and enter the age of modern political democracy and self-government. Until then every positive transformation toward citizen based political ideology and behavior is welcome by Horus, the Two-Eyed Falcon!
