Wolqait-Tseged and Lake Tsana has been part of Tirgay during the Muslim invasion of Ethiopia (1528-1560). Menelik fearing the powerful and well experienced Tigrayan Nobility took away Wolqait and gave it to Gonder. TPLF-EPRDF created Amhara region which was made of Gonder, Gojam, Shoa and Wello povinces. And yet Wolkqait was put under Tigrayan administration. Gonder and most of Wello and Gojamme has been non-Amhara. The population is mostly Agew but the central government Amharized it.
Wolqait and Tsegede region should be under Tigray. This will be wise if the Amhara elites give the region back to Tigray voluntarily. Tigray will not negotiate on it's historical regions such as Wolqait, Lake Tsana and Awash River area (Alewuha Melash).

Wolqait-Tsegede has been part of Tigay and the greater Aksumite Empire since time immemorial!
