Re: BLOOMBERG [USA]: U.S. Weighs Financial Sanctions Against Ethiopia Over Tigray War
The way I see it, Abiy has already lost control over events in Tigray! He cant tell Eritrea nor the Amhara forces to pull out.
He has appeased and entrenched the Amhara so much that, let alone tell EDF to pull out, they are threatening a military coup for suggestion of court marshalling war criminals in EDF!The amhara thus control actions of EDF! All other regions balancing opinions are muted because the amhara have tongue-lashed Abiy to kill off dissenting voices. Then there is TDF whose leadership structure and final aim not exactly known. Resolution of the Tigray issue is an amhara question than an abiy question. They run ethiopia and their agenda through Abiy!
IMO financial sanctions to resolve Tigray issue is to squander influence leverage. There is only a military solution to tigray issue.
There is perhaps one thing that financial sanctions can do and that is, influence a new political arrangement in ethiopia!!

So, you think that is the cause of the alleged sanction?gearhead wrote: ↑22 May 2021, 10:18The way I see it, Abiy has already lost control over events in Tigray! He cant tell Eritrea nor the Amhara forces to pull out.

Please give up on your politiking and take up a new field of knowledge which is governing the world today. Knowledge is taking countries out of the influence of us financial mussle based on the power of dollar as an internationally accepted currency.
That is to end very soon and the world has already devised a means by using knowledge.
I shared an article yesterday on this site that I came across in the internet and was dealing with something called BlockChain technology.
You don't seem even to understand why Ethiopia opted to venture itself in such high-risk but rewarding innovative technology? Can you guess?

We will tell you what to do, if you behave differently, we put sanction on you, and you are done is a tired, out-of-the-twentieth- century play book. I do not think it is working now. Ethiopia has the choice to build a mutually respected relationship with a country, or countries that rival USA economically.

There are obviously ulterior motives behind this move-but anyone who is at least trying to be impartial, supports some kind of sanctions or consequences, against the dictatorship of Atse Abiy. I know that, many of our countrymen, who tend to either be Amara, or ardent supporters of Emperor Abiy, tend to ignore or overlook the reports of the atrocities committed in Tigray; but those who are not so biased and blinded by their hatred for the TPLF/OR Tigrayans, can't possibly support what's occurring there. They tend to deflect or try to change the subject, anytime war crimes are brought up-they say ''what about the defense forces!'' As if, BOTH sides aren't wrong, that is, the TPLF & Abiy/his allies, and as if we cannot condemn wrong regardless of which side committed it. As if, the TPLF's crimes, justifies the war crimes that were obviously, and perhaps still ARE, being committed in Tigray.

Losing $1 billion a year in financial support is gonna hurt a rich country, let alone poor ol' Ethiopia. Mamo qillo has NO choice but to buckle under and do as he's told. The neftegna diaspora is not gonna come to his or EZEMA's rescue. In fact, you will see those hodams hauling asz starting next week back to the land of milk and honey.Sam Ebalalehu wrote: ↑22 May 2021, 11:26We will tell you what to do, if you behave differently, we put sanction on you, and you are done is a tired, out-of-the-twentieth- century play book. Re: BLOOMBERG [USA]: U.S. Weighs Financial Sanctions Against Ethiopia Over Tigray War
These filthy agames are the dumbest weasels in the world.
If they think the USA and its tentacles will punish Ethiopia (even visa restrictions or freezing assets) I have a mountain to sell them.
Punishing or becoming an enemy to Ethiopia for the sake of a run away ethiopian sovereign shiftas region (putting ethiopia under the bus) is dreaming to get a pie from the sky.
You mother fu**kers, you told the world that war is your cultural games and now just like your always dependence on some one to be your crutches (like Eritrea carrying you to Addis, like the ethiopians trusted you and gave you chance) here you go again dreaming or begging the USA to help you over Ethiopia?
The bottom line is, had you not start your so called game by massacaring sleeping ethios (your own federal troops) all the [deleted] which is going on wouldn't have happened. The rest is CAUSE & EFFECT.
What is happening to you has a validate reason. But you should be asked for the death of Ethiopian troops and destroying your own (Ethiopia's assets) in tigray...airport, schools, roads, hospitals, churches, mykadra events etc.
You can't claim that you are victims after you started the freaking a'ss spanking.
You gumbled and as you always were telling us that in wars THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL and swallow the bitter pill and sit your little agame as*ses down and be Ethiopian as you should or if you have the guts ask the Ethiopians to let you go and create your little republic of tigray, to eat belle's and quenties.
Man, one should feel ashamed to the gurra you were speaking and showing us in your stadium and streets prior to get your a'ss whooped, to turn 180° to beg any body for sympathy and to be bailed out from your disaster adventure and at the same time lying to yourselves as if there is war in tigray and you are winning it. Bizarre is understatement.
Keep it up. So long you keep this crap your trouble will get only worse.
