Concerning N0.8, there might be some reforms if the majority of Ethiopian people through their elected representatives come together and reach consensus and or majority vote. Also we have to look at the root cause of the current federal law.

The reality and root cause happens to be the centralized unitary dictatorship system of past feudal governments based on a single religion, single language, single culture, etc. feudalistic cruel exploitation and denial of justice, equality and the right to have control over own resources.

All of these nihilist feudal types of emotional "make my day yesterday" folks shouting high and loud non stop are keenly seeking the same old centralized dictatorship and blanket abolishing of the federal constitution, which means possibly setting on large scale civil war and through that descending to the bottomless chaos like Yemen, Libya, Syria. etc. Why throw away a baby with bath water? Meaning, changing the entire constitution instead of changing the relevant articles in the constitution such as for example article 39, etc. needing changes and updating in the light of experiences gained thus far.

Mengistu and Co got rid of feudalism in Ethiopia. it is also an insult to think Ethiopians willingly allow that long dead system to surface.
The federal system desperately needs fixing along with thr rewriting of the constitution with public consultation.also one big problem we have with current system is not disbanding ethnic based political parties.

I think the points Horus indicated are great: a) # 1 through #7 are immediate priority or short-term tactic and b ) # 8 is fundamental.
The mother of all problems of the country is << የጎሳ ክልል፣ የጎሳ ሕገ መንግስት፣ የጎሳ ፌዴሬሽን፣ የጎሳ ጦር>>. When this only monster is killed, peace will prevail. This is a no-brainer. There is no guarantee that the chronic disease (ethnic federation & ethnic constitution) that destroyed the Tigre minority, will spare ODP-PP. If Abiy Ahmed fails to pay attention to ban the ethnic federation and the illegal-tplf constitution, he is doomed to fail. I guess he already knew he is riding a dead horse that is everywhere ethnic cleansing is increasingly becoming his headache, because the ethnics federation has already collapsed. Ethnic federation is like a foolish person trying to boil water or cook food inside a plastic bag which will meltaway. The tplf ethnic federation is melting, it can't tolerate the heat of modern political thoughts and demands of the 21st century. It should be dissolved sooner than later.
