Thank you for sharing the map dated mid-19th centaury. In the past, Ethiopia underwent through various demographic upheavals and transformed itself a dozen times. Under all these transformations, the largest demography in ancient Ethiopia was ethnic Amhara. There was not any Ethiopian land in antique times that one would not find an ethnic Amhara, a case in point, Aba Behrey/አባ በህርይ/ was serving as the head of Church in Gamo Gofa. What this tells you is Amhara coexisted with all the indigenous tribes of Ethiopia peacefully and in harmony the vast territory of Ethiopia. One does not have to go far that many of those who identify themselves are the lost tribe of Amhara. The physical and color texture of most Oromos is as identical as Amhara. One can't deny that.
