How about collective leadership takeover of PP and postponement of the elections!

Post by gearhead » 23 Apr 2021, 19:34

Just a thought! A council composed of the military security Killil chiefs? Abiy deleted the little collective leadership there was when he single handedly deleted EPEDF and formed PP. He goes unchecked all the more he is proving himself not upto the task. He shouldnt have more than one vote on any decision.

Ethiopia has hit rock bottom with Abiy, I don't think it will ever have a worse leader ever. Abiy has been promoted to a level of his own incompetence as they say in Peter's Principle.

But, why a committee of PP and their appointees? Why not a transitional government of all stake holders which I guess is a sensible option.

I think it is wise to be honest. Abiy has turned out to be more politically savvy than the TPLF leaderships all counted.
Whether you like to believe it or not he will remain an influential political figure in Ethiopian’s politics for some time come. But not a single one of the TPLF leaders who made its worst decision almost half years ago will be alive, if alive, or has even the political input of any ordinary Ethiopian. He beat them badly. Admit it. That will be the beginning of gaining new knowledge : Ethiopia is changing, and those who believe the nation interest as the most important will have the lion share In charting Ethiopian’s future.

Really?

Only the last fool and the least wise think of even remotely sidelining a world class leader never seen never heard in 3000 years of Ethiopian history and try to collect together shoddy, greedy, bickering, emotional, hateful, vengeful, divided petty rural war lords and street corner gang bosses to form a government of a great country sounds as joke of all jokes that have ever been imagined even remotely.

That would have been like willingly wide opening the door and letting the great country descend in to the bottomless chaos and limitless disintegration even more than that of Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen and the likes.

ABSOLUTELY NO THANKS! YES PM ABIY CAN! DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION AND DEMOCRATIC ELECTION IS THE ONLY WAY TO THE NEW HEALTHY, WEALTHY AND HAPPY NEW ETHIOPIAN HIGHWAY! BINGO!
:P

Yes I agree 100%. I am not a politician but yet I am sure that this wise and skillful PM will beat all of these noisy envious chatter boxes with planned minimum efforts. YES HE CAN! 8)

Sarcasm,

i agree...abiy's ideal position would have been head of INSA and/or the AI institution that he just launched. Nothing more than that. PP wont go for Transitional Government for many reasons I wrote about yesterday; it would have been great early on (before war and imprisonment) of many of the actors. Situations have to force that kind of outcome and still, it will be a mess with polar opposite agenda of each party

Sam...

beating TPLF wasnt the objective of the transition. Not the way I understood it. And then the heavy cost and unintended consequences of the war, just to kill 40 old men? Still, there is at least half-a-million of them without whom he cant run tigray. Then there is residual resistance prompting eritrea's stay,. Add to that a heavy diplomatic toll and internal popularity loss, Abiy himself would have reconsidered his decision.

Abiy's decisions need to be checked and where better than within his own party, in the form of collective leadership.
