EU’s Uncalled for and Irresponsible Sanctions against Eritrea!
It has been said that when America sneezes its shadow states like the EU catch a cold, or should I say, try to wade in an unenviable identity crisis pond?
Never mind that the EU has been on record for standing against Eritrea and Eritrean interest since its inception. Add to that the EU has been shamelessly accusing Eritrea of just about everything its misguided policy towards Eritrea guided it with information it claims to have gathered from the usual anti-Eritrea pundits. Those sources have the infamy of masquerading their unreliable and usually downright fake story as genuine news. Of course, the EU didn't have to take those stories at face value. But it does, for it suits its own political agenda against Eritrea!
Now let’s remind the EU just some of the reckless and irresponsible behavior it has shown when it comes to Eritrean affairs.
Although the EU was nonexistent as an organization, none of its member states (some of them racists) had the courage, morals, compassion, or wisdom to support the 30-year long independence struggle of the Eritrean people in any shape or form, including that what they like to brag as “humanitarian” assistance. On the other hand, some of its member states had supported the various Ethiopian regimes with economic, military, political, and diplomatic prowess in spite of the mayhem and utter destruction the Eritrean people had suffered under the brutal forces of Emperor Haileselassie, the Dergue regime and the TPLF regime that followed. Where were its "Humanitarian" concerns when thousands of Eritrean/Ethiopian people were forcefully deported from their home in Ethiopia after their lifelong savings and properties and business were illegally confiscated by the TPLF regime?
Another example of EU conspiracy, during the TPLF instigated, what some observers termed as “senseless", the 1998-2000 war, once again the EU and its allies did nothing to tame down their client state from its madness that had killed and maimed many civilians in addition to thousands of young Ethiopian conscripts which were used as cannon fodder by the TPLF regime.
When it was clear that the TPLF regime was not going to “win” the war as its masters had hoped for, the EU was one of the witnesses and guarantors of the Algiers Peace Agreement, which the defeated TPLF was forced to sign with Eritrea. However, it didn't take that long for the EU to unshed its phony “Peace” cover by doing nothing to carry out its moral and legal obligation to call on the TPLF for its flagrant violation of the Algiers Peace Agreement and “punish” the aggressive party per article VI of the United Nations (UN) Charter.
