Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the State of Eritrea

On the meeting of the Ambassador of Russia A. Yarakhmedov with the adviser to the President of Eritrea Hagos Gebrehivet

March 10 this year held a meeting with the adviser to the President of Eritrea on financial, trade and economic issues, the head of the economic bloc of the Popular Front for Democracy and Justice Party, Hagos Gebrehiwet.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the world and in Eritrea, in particular. The ambassador spoke about the work carried out in Russia to create a vaccine to combat COVID-19.

Taking into account the earlier expressed interest from the Eritrean side in the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, the interlocutor was given a package of informational materials on this vaccine.

H. Gebrehivet, in turn, promised to study the documents together with the country's Ministry of Health for possible registration of the vaccine in Eritrea.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed the state of Russian-Eritrean cooperation and the situation in the Horn of Africa region, including in the Ethiopian region of Tigray.

Ethiopia's Tigray crisis: Hospitals 'vandalised and looted'
https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-afri ... ssion=true
A question! What makes more sense: That a force that wrecked infrastructure as it fled would vandalize hospitals as it leaves (especially when it's losing the war), or an incoming army would destroy the facilities as they take control of a town?

This is more troubling if true, as civilians badly need medical care. But how does Nolan and MSF know, they were Eritrean troops? Note the language: past tense! Who are the sources? As the other big accusation is outside aid was kept out of parts of the region, for a long time.

This is another strange assertion! Tigray had amazing health care yet other stories claim millions were starving there before the conflict, and that was also made worse by the war? So... No famine victims, overwhelming the wards? Ever?

Let's fact check, with Lawrence Freeman.

Will there EVER be a reporter, who questions this shít? Yes, ask the gov't hard questions on that high operational rate. But you really think an incoming federal army that needs the cooperation of the populace would destroy equipment it might, BTW, also need for its troops?

It would be so nice, so refreshing, if journalists today did this thing we used to have that was called CHECKING- if what they tell you is true. Instead of acting like geese at the pond, when the old lady with the bag of expired bread slices shows up. Just gobble up anything. Ugh!

Note: I have not addressed the question of Eritrean troops bc, I simply don't know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard about the manufactured uniforms, etc. All the pros and cons of the issue, and on and on. Waiting for more info. Frankly, I'm more interested in the military base angle.

That's concerning. But again, as usual, where is this info coming from? And please don't tell me MSF. Where'd they get it from? Also, @BBCNews, how about instead of recycling Amnesty's Axum BS, you investigate the growing complaints about its flaws, discrepancies and nonsense?

The so called journalists and ngo have predetermined narrative they want to portrait when they write stories or news piece to push their interests in the region.
If not, why’d they depend their reporting on he say she say Facebook posts from diaspora personalities, AND totally ignore the facts reported from Ethiopian government and local governments in tigreay

Marie Antoinette

Poor Marie Antoinette is misquoted and often wrongly referred to. She never said the famous phrase of "Let them eat cake", which is commonly attributed to her. This is a historical fact. The phrase was simply an invented anecdote of a famous historian, composer, and writer in the late 18th century.

One should stay away from quoting her on such a phrase to avoid possible embarrassment, as this would indicate one's poor knowledge of history.

just a thought!

If that was directed at me, then it's the wrong person to direct it to. In actual fact, it was the Count Cagliostro (member of Weishaupt's "Illuminati"- who were anti monarchy), who set her up. There was the story of the "lost handkerchief", prior to that. I might not be at your level, but I'm not as ignorant as you think.

If it's directed at Dr. Hashi, I doubt he visits Mereja. But, I know what he meant by that "jab" to the Guelleh regime- that's why I posted it.

It was directed at anyone who would quote Marie Antoinette on such a phrase, including the Dr. Hashi, whom I invite to take note of what I'm saying, so he could thank me for helping him avoid being embarrassed.

No one has ever set Marie Antoinette up to say such a phrase, as she never said it.

When this phrase came to light, she was not even living in France, leave alone being married to Louis-Auguste - but was a kid still living with her parents in Vienna.

As I said earlier, such a phrase (Qu'ils mangent de la brioche) was an invented anecdote of Jean Jacques Rousseau, who wrote this in his autobiography, which he called "Les Confessions". He never mentioned a name, leave alone Marie Antoinette, who was still a kid living with her parents in Vienna. And nowhere in the history was she quoted either on borrowing such a phrase.

This is a historical fact, not an opinion that's open to debate.

What can I say about such an unscrupulous creature who when he was running for president for the third term said that it was his last time, and who is now running for the fifth term saying that he didn't want to run for president but the Djiboutian public is forcing him to do so!

This cow has been playing the dog of the west for East Africa since Meles (May he rot in hell) died. He and Meles were good friends. W
hat do you expect from such a person!

Many shallow-minded Somalis think that he has been trying to help Somalia get back on its feet! In reality, he has been doing the exact opposite, fuelling conflicts between opponents in Somalia, calling them one by one in Djibouti without ever saying what they discussed or what their incessant meetings were about!

Guess what - he has lately been scaring Djiboutians with Somalia, telling them in public that if they got unhappy with him and revolted, Somalia's chaos would be what they would get!

Zmeselo,

Many people claim that President Isaias is a dictator! That's OK as people are not happy with democrats either. But he has done so many things (that are highly beneficial both for the country and its population with the least funding sources available for him) that so many presidents who claim to be democratic, including in the western world, haven't done! And I haven't heard him owning mansions in the Caribbean, or living a lavish lifestyle, owning a $50 million Bombardier Global Express private jet and fleets of Range Rover and Benz, like Paul Kagame!

You're exactly, right!

Those who accuse him of being a dictator are actually the ones doing all they can, so he stays put as President.

Let me clarify!

Those who're his supporters (at least all who don't hate him as a person), want to see political reforms within the country already by yesterday too, but as long as there's lingering foreign animosity still rearing its ugly head (even in very high places) then we want him to stay. We hoped for it happening by now that the weyane is dead & gone, but its foreign masters & handlers won't give up their agenda of divide & conquer in the HoA.

No one is like him when it comes to confrontations, & settling them to our advantage.
