The issues are more complex than what appears to visible eye. American global power projection is in a state of transition and adaptation. There are now multiple super-powers and regional powers. Global dominance and global influence is a finite resource. There are only so many geographies, regions and countries to dominate, negotiate and cooperate.
The current American bosses think that Ethiopia is low hanging fruit, poor and vulnerable that could be easily bullied and pushed. That is the fundamental miscalculation they are making. America has no rational justification for its current hostility other than disrespect, racism, arrogance and projection of its slave holding deep culture projected onto Ethiopia.
In a deep sense, what the current American behavior signifies that it has no policy for the new world reality. The Biden folks are literally repeating very, very old model of influencing the world, that is, stop food aid, release food aid, stop some kind of assistance and release some kind of assistance. THIS THE CLASSIC AMERICA WELFARE MODEL
This American Welfare system practiced on the former slaves of America, will not work on the free and independent Ethiopians in this day and age. America can only influence Ethiopia by being a friend and partner of Ethiopia not by telling Ethiopians what to do. That is our psychology and that is not our culture and history.
IF AMERICA FEELS DEFEATED BY THEIR UNSC FIASCO, IT WAS OWN MAKING AND SHOULD TAKE LESSON FROM IT. THERE IS NOTHING AMERICA GAINS BY BEING HOSTILE TO ETHIOPIA OTHER THAN DRIVING US AWAY FROM THEIR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE.
so my prediction is that American policy will shift away from TPLF addiction to the reality of Ethiopia.
