His concern seems misplaced. He seems to think those who reported the Wollo famine to the world hurt Ethiopia. Mind you, he doesn’t seem to consider how many lives were saved because of the international reports exposing the famine the Emperor hid and failed to address. So let people suffer to avoid bad international image?
I mean I get it if his government is addressing the issue and try to save bad international reputation. The problem is the problem is not being addressed. It may even explode even worse and lead to more sufferings for people in war zones. This could be coverup amounting to crime by the Ambassador.

It’s like the husband silencing the wife he abuses as he is freaking out she started telling friends or the neighbors.
