The media campaign against Ethiopia is not about saving TPLF as such, it is all about trying to use TPLF for weakening Ethiopia and its current administration from aspiring bigger and better for its people.
Ethiopia's current government said it will not compromise on Ethiopianism and what makes Ethiopia what it is: a proud african nation, that put the forces of colonialism at bay while all the surroundings were undulated by the epic of that violent wave.
The nation that fended off the real and lethal weaponry of the colonialists of the real war time of the 19th and 20th centuries, wouldn't and shouldn't kneel down to the era of mass propagand waged on media and other communication tools of the 21st century.
The children of Ethiopia should rise now to take the responsibility of defending their country from the scrupulous media propaganda of neo-colonialists of the 21 st century.

Re: "If we deny Ethiopia an internal peace, then we can also keep it handicapped in perpetuity"
To be honest, I don't think this is a good approach. I understand we are being treated unfairly and the western media is becoming more bias but the last thing we want to do is engage this media and diplomatic campaign with patriotism, whining and blaming the west. That is in my view the worst strategy. What we need is instead opening up Tigray for foreign/local journalists and international organizations. Let them get their information from the ground and not from diaspora digital woyane. We have to put capable people at the foreign ministry and start an aggressive diplomatic and media campaign. We should not fall into the trap of whining for being treated unfairly and blaming the west even though their bias is clear. We can and should win the diplomatic and media campaign and overturn it into our gain. That should be our target without being too much emotional and fall into patriotic rhetoric. We have to make the media our friends with personal contacts and what not. Patriotic rhetoric is the least we need right now as it will put us in self righteousness and the attitude of blockade. That is the least we need now. What we need is opening up, engaging and making more friends.DefendTheTruth wrote: ↑01 Mar 2021, 16:43The media campaign against Ethiopia is not about saving TPLF as such, it is all about trying to use TPLF for weakening Ethiopia and its current administration from aspiring bigger and better for its people.

the media and other actors know their goal and act based on that goal. The goal dictates their actions, it is not your friendship or taking them out for coffee or, what else, that will tell them what to do.
"Awuqo yetegnan beqeseqisut aysemam" yelal ye agerachin sew.
If you really want to counter the malicious propaganda and the clear effort of trying to weaken our country by strengthening the internal factions against each other, then the first step you should take is define your goal and based on that device the appropriate action geared towards defending the country.
I shouldn't care about clear lies, the liars should care for their lying.
If the Ethiopian government has somehow lied to its people and the international community, then we should fight against it as well fiercely and defend our country.
We can't defend or tolerate a pure lie.
You are also contradicting yourself in your comment, one one hand you said "we shouldn't engage them" and then turned around and said "foreign ministry and start an aggressive diplomatic and media campaign".
These all come from the central point you missed: know what your goal should be, which should be the starting point.
Re: "If we deny Ethiopia an internal peace, then we can also keep it handicapped in perpetuity"
I didn't say we should not engage them. I said we should not engage them with patriotic rhetoric. Read again. I think concluding that the west wants to weaken Ethiopia based on the current bias journalism is very premature and the consequence of acting based on this too hasty assessment will only const us dearly. Before we come to such a hasty conclusion that the west wants to weaken us, we should first engage in dealing with the current media and diplomatic war. This can be won by first opening up Tigray for international media. Why should the international media be forced to get information about Mai-Kadra from refugees in Sudan than directly going to Mai-Kadra and get first hand info. This is our weakness period! We should first try to do everything to win the media war before concluding that they hate us and want us weakened. That is lazy in my view. We should first do our home work properly which clearly we are failing and only then we can conclude about the intention of the west. Now it is more of our fault because of incompetence not western bad intention. Foreign ministry should be in the hands of seasoned diplomats but due to our stupid ethnic politics it is held by people who have no exposure to foreign diplomacy. Ethnic quota is just hurting us badly.DefendTheTruth wrote: ↑01 Mar 2021, 17:27temari,temari wrote: ↑01 Mar 2021, 16:59To be honest, I don't think this is a good approach. Re: "If we deny Ethiopia an internal peace, then we can also keep it handicapped in perpetuity"
Why the hell is Abiy Ahmed and his government nursing and nurturing ethnic federation? How does a government ,which is the guardian of ethnic federation, be a true advocate of Ethiopianism and not be a weapon of foreign adversaries? The only true way to silence foreign adversaries and closed the loophole is banning ethnic federation. If they are fond of tribalism and ethnic federation let them tried in their own countries. Ethiopia can't be a country while the rotten Tigre liberation thugs and ODO-OLF are whining and pooping.
