It could be, I have no doubt that this could be the case. But the way to fight against that is by creating a politics geared towards defeating the so called "ethnic politics" by bringing forward a better idea and an organisation that can put forward that idea, in my view.
Do you have such an alternative? In the absence of a better alternative the bad alternative the best alternative, unless you are wishing to incite havoc here and there and driving the country to an endless anarchy.
Ethnic politics is carried forward by a politically organised political party (parties) and you can defeat it by organising a party (parties) that can win over the former by means of idea.
Say please, who/what your alternative is.
