I think those two made fool of themselves. Lidetu has always been serving the interest of TPLF. He was the only “ opposition” party politician who made a lot of money on business while TPLF was in power. Probably he was among a handful of “opposition” politicians who was allowed to study abroad while TPLF running the show . There is no doubt he misses TPLF.
In the current and future Ethiopian politics in which the TPLF we knew will not exist, Lidetu’s political viability is almost nonexistent. Lidetu cries for his creator, TPLF, death as well for his incoming political insignificance.
Yeilkal, However, has not been a creature of TPLF. However while he has tried to cultivate an image of a politician who is not beholden to tribal politics, he is not what he says he is.
Yes, his opposition to the Abiy administration has tribal influence. Had Abiy been from Gojam, Debremarkos, he sure would have supported the Gojame Abiy’s decision of defending the integrity of the country.
But I wonder who is the audience these two losers tried to reach to.
In fact, their interview seems to me a willing political suicide they committed in front of millions.

Sam - great points!

Lidetu has made some come back with logical arguments of his these days; his explanation on his party being thrown out by election board was convincing; he was put in jail for no reason as well however, his stands on Isaias/Eritrea at this time didn't make any sense and won't earn him the support of Ethiopians.

I have wondered in what era Lidetu was living? TPLF attacked EDF; Isu/Eritrea stood by EDF and saved lives. Ethiopians are indebted to that, let alone calling Isaias as a #1 Enemy.

Calling Eritrea the #1 Enemy of Ethiopia, while Ethiopians are celebrating the aftermath of the conflict with TPLF is nuts.

The only constituency these 2, Lidetu/Yelikal are attracting has to be TPLF/OLF supporters. They've fully succeeded in that; many TPLF persuasion media outlets are celebrating their twisted views as we speak.

It is like calling Italy the #1 Enemy of Ethiopia in the coming celebration of the 125 anniversary of the battle of Adwa? That begs the question, in what century, Lidetu thinks he is living?
