I am saddened by the killing of Agitu
I am literally in tears & heartbroken. It was in 2015 that I heard about her for the first time. Despite all what woyanes did to her, she became a success story in Italy and I was deeply touched by her story, persistence and glory. RIP agitu!

I had a bad feeling when I saw that guy - whether it is HIM or not - with her in such a remote area of Italy.
The Arabs who commented on youtube on her story admired her fighter mentality a lot. She was a beautiful human being. I am sad.

Ethiopian woman in the Alps mountains. Integration through Goat's Cheese.

She was an exemplary woman, who lifts herself in a foreign country like that but she lost everything b/c of one maniac man.

Re: I am saddened by the killing of Agitu
She is gone, never to come back, I don't know her and didn't hear about her before (at least I don't remember any more), RIP.
It is heart breaking, whether she was an entrepreneur or not, she was a citizen, who faced the end moments of her life in the hands of a certain savage human being.
She is gone, but the humiliation is for us, the remaining citizens, this is not the only case, where our citizens faced similar and heart breaking fate in the hands of others. We failed them, or at least we have not shown any initiative to curb such things to happen in the future.
Many are busy, when they are dealing with politics and hate for another citizen of the nation, but never to be seen, when it is about helping to give the next generation a better hope in its own country.
Stop shedding your crocodile tears, when such heart-breaking case happens. Many many more Ethiopians are facing much similar fates all over the world.
You can oppose the government but still you could have cared for the people at the same time. Don't give me name that I might be using the opportunity to support the government or deflect any criticism against it. I am/was not part of this or the former government but have been calling for people to take initiative and do something for their country, even on this forum on many occasions.
The dead is gone, the remaining will have to live in humiliation for the clear pattern that has befallen our country lately by failing to do anything against it.

Re: I am saddened by the killing of Agitu
Agreed and seconded. A sane person should condemn the death of any innocent human being regardless of race, gender, age, tribe or political affiliation. But I have no problem calling out those people that fuel hatred among societies and collectively victimize certain tribes. They deserve to be severely punished and burn in hell.
What made Agitu standout from all the bloodshed that we hear about everyday is her story. She was a victim of political unrest like many other Ethiopians who have been pushed out of the country against their will. Many have perished in the desert of Arabia and wetlands of Tanzania or they were drowned in The Red Sea and The Mediterranean Sea. Others were slaughtered in broad daylight in the coast of Libya while trying to embark on a boat to Europe. Despite these horror stories, Agitu didn’t only make it to Italy but also became a successful entrepreneur within a short period of time. She took on a venture that people would normally consider impossible or non profitable and turned it upside down. When I first saw her feeding goats and converting raw milk to cheese, my spirit was uplifted and my broken heart mended. She was like a godsend shepherd on foreign soil that no one would resist to pay attention. Unfortunately, Satan is always at work and she is now gone. Gone too soon!

Still mourning the death of my fellow Ethiopian, Agitu.
Re: I am saddened by the killing of Agitu
I think it was about a year ago when I first watched her video and I was so impressed by her can-do attitude, work ethic, and felt very proud of her resilience in the face of racist attacks by some local folks jealous of her success.
Agitu was a remarkable woman. She was the voice of the voiceless Ethiopian victims who had lost their lands to the Junta's land-grab criminal activities. She too was forced into exile by the Junta that confiscated her ancestral land and sold it to foreigners for peanuts. Her story is a greater Ethiopian story of the last 27 years under the cruel Junta devoid of Ethiopian nationalism.
Her tragic death at the hands of a migrant whom she had offered employment opportunity to provide him a better life is similar to what has transpired in Ethiopia in recent months, where an ungrateful Junta turned its guns against the very soldiers who were helping Tigray peasants fight a Biblical locust infestation.
My heart goes out to the Ethiopian people who are grieving the loss of this wonderful woman. Rest In Peace sister.
