This interview gives a glimpse of your world outlook. I think what TPLF did in the name of privatization was crony capitalism while PM Abiy’s attempt in privatization looks a consequence of Adam Smith type of capitalism- demand and supply. As you may know, demand for ICT is growing in Ethiopia over the last decade and yet Government could not meet the demand because one, the need for big investment and two the government’s desire to control its population by spying its citizens on what they are doing on the Internet.

By the way, the head of Ethio Telecom was on the media today. She disclosed a built-in camera footage showing how the TPLF thugs invaded the Tigray telecom office and tower on the evening they attack the North Army Command and vandalizing the system. So, the blackout of Internet in Tigray is partly the work of the thugs themselves and restoring it depends on how much time is needed to fix the damage.
