The stage master, the beautiful, the freedom fighter, African top artist meles singing a sweet song in Arabic.
Wow!
By the way do you also know speaking more than 5 languages is the measuring stick of higher IQ? And every Eritrean speaks minimum 3 or 4 languages.

She was my queen also until she sold her sole to Agame Dawit Gebrezgabiher for a few hundred dollars and chose to perform in AgameLand for Agames while the land she fought and buried many of her friends and first husband was still under the Agame’s occupation. Without her knowing, Weyane’s used her for propaganda. I can’t get over that.

Euroland don't you remember that our govt opened the border for a very short time to give these ungrateful agames the benefit of the doubt, until they took us for fools and try to sabotage us?
Likewise Helen may be were used to see how these nasty people will act. Yes I heard they enjoyed her, but you know that backstabbing is their nature.
So, my brother give her a break. It is not like she did something that hurts Eritrea.

Brother euroland,
I am sure many Eritrean brothers and sisters have also the same feelings that you have and I don't blame you for that. I understand she rushed a little bit to go to Agameland which surprised many people. I am sure she also realized it soon after. But the way I look at the whole situation is that first and foremost, she was not invited by the coward TPLF Junta and neither did she entertain or lap dance to them. She entertained just poor agame people at the invitation of the agame Dawit Gebrezgabiher. Second, what did she do when she went there? did she sell her sole to please agame people or TPLF ? I watched the whole show and Helen Meles was all about Eritrean heroism and love songs. She told agames in their home turf about the heroism and patriotism of Master Shabo... Please let me know if she sang a single one from agame songs in Mekelle.
Having said that, even though I wish she did not rush to go to agameland, Helen Meles was my queen before and she is still my queen today regardless.
Dedebit is always dedeb

Cigar bro,
Yes, the border was open. But she was advised not to go and her excuse was she had already accepted down payment. In any case, I think Helen has paid heavily for her mistake and it is time that she is rehabilitated.
BTW, the border was opened and we tolerated the dirty agames because we needed to have the sanctions lifted.
Helen is one of the best Tigre singers. Here are some examples
Libye Hara beAal shamu (Belenita)
Fetanit
Selamawit Gebru singing Belenita

Euroland Bro I am 100% with you in here. eventhough the border was open, our people wound has not healed from these despicable tribe put us through. Although we would not allow nor would they get any audience in eritrea, i did not see any Agame artists volenteered to come to Asmara to perform. There were not any famous eritrean artists willing to go to the scabies infested village Mekelle to perform either. Like Dawit Shilan and some others are close to the dirty tribe by blood. But, your girl and that fat a$$ Kahsay showed what they are willing to do for a "BUCK". God forbid had the Weyane won the war and controlled Ethiopia, i have no doubt that she would run her a$$ to mekelle to perform and sell her soul. I appreciated Dawit Shilan for not taking the opportunity and gone to his father land to perform for he knows how sensitive the situation is. I have lost all respect i had for this [deleted] and mad that our Heroine Teberih Tesfahuney songs made to be mocked by her. that is my 2 cents on the subject. " that is all i have to say about that" as Forest Gump would say.

Sesame, so do you believe she went to the cursed land with out the approval of our govt?
I don't know and I don't think so.
And like brother Hawzen said, she was as patriotic Eritrean in their turf as she is inside Eritrea.
If she was in support of the junta woyane, she wouldn't have came back to Eritrea. But like some of you mentioned, may be money was to be made. So, if she took their money and laugh all the way to the Eritrean banks, I say no hurm done.
I just don't know all the details, but all I am saying is that she is one of the gems of Eritrean artists.
And I posted the video because I believe she is a unique artist who can sing in multiple languages.

Hello Cigar,
She was advised not to go. But they couldn't prohibit her from going because there were delicate diplomatic moves at that time to lift the sanctions. Her problem was that she was offered a very sweet deal, and she had accepted a down payment (ዕርቡን) which, I suppose, she was reluctant to forgo.
Of course, she was not supporting the TPLF thugs; for her it was a purely lucrative business deal. They wanted her to lay a wreath on the Aider memorial but she refused to do so. She did nothing to compromise herself. But a lot of people were angry with her and many boycotted her. A number of engagement she had made for summer festivals in Europe were cancelled.
She is indeed an Eritrean star and I think she has paid enough and should be forgiven.

Sesame, you said it might have been done for the purpose of lifting the sanction. So isn't that a good thing?
And who advised her not to go.
Any Eritrean needs to get approval from our immigration. I think that could be the case about going to tigray too.
So, if the advice came from our govt, then it could have easily said no exit visa.
But I can understand about the money, so long the money is spent in Eritrea.
Like I said earlier, I am not familiar about her visit.
I see it like these. If we are to worry about the wellbeing of our refugees in tigray who fled our country against the law of our country, I think we should be ok with her stealing their money and returned back home.

She held her concert in Tigray on Nov 10, 2018. The UN Security council lifted the sanctions on Nov 14, 2018. I doubt if her going had any effect. But had the government prohibited her from going, it would have been big news as her going was announced at least a month before, and might have had some negative effect. The whole point of opening the border, from Eritrea's point of view, was to have the sanctions lifted. It is not just about money, there are deep wounds that have to be taken into account.
She was advised by the government not to go. In fact, many veteran EPLF musicians whom she asked to accompany her refused to do so. But the government did not deny her a visa, that is, did not prohibit her from going. Her going had harmed her enormously as she lost a lot of her fans.
In any case, let's stop the discussion here.
