You are right, weapon alone won't fight the fighting. But there seem to be some truth that they took hold of the majority heavy weaponory from the ethiopian national army before the battle begun. This is due to the silly minded nature of the politicians in Addis.

Very true. Weapons alone don't do the trick if you faced a population that is in sync and ready to make sacrifice.
