It is in the best interest of Egypt to stay away from Trump's comment that disparaged Ethiopians but tried to deflect Egyptian loss of influence in Sudan.
Both Israel and Sudan are winning in that signing ceremony; by Trump mediating it, Egypt continued to lose being the only mediator between the Arab world & Israel. If they don't get involved in the future agro-business of Sudan/Ethiopia they will be irrelevant all together.
Tomorrow, Israeli investors are going to start flocking to Sudan; GERD has opened up the entire huge irrigable land of Sudan available. Both Sudan & Israel have interest in keeping GERD; Trump well knows, Egypt can't blow up the GERD. For what?
If they do that, we may cut or change directions of all tributaries of the Nile. That is easy to do; they're bunch of small rivers that make up the Nile. Are they going to occupy Ethiopia to keep re-routing the tributaries towards Egypt? Let them try that; that'll be the day!
