If I remember well, the politician said something like "the one single secret behind our successful policy of developing our country (region) is our keen realization of the role of education in development and subsequent (massive) investment in the sector at all levels and in all of the centrers (geographical areas)". He also indicated that the result or pay-back of investment in education (ROI) will only be realized after something 30 or 40 years and we invested in the sector before that much time to realise what we have today (the economic powerhouse of Europe). This is an strategic investment, to put it in other terms.
If the claim of that politician is something to go with (is with grain of truth), then the comment in the following video of an Oromia offical should be an indication of the party in power being on the right track to change this country, finally. Amen to that, with cautious optimism, in my view.
The late Meles Zenawi of TPLF helped us develop a mass of manga devoid of thinking power and reasoning but instead being driven by cheer emotion that could even damage its own tomorrow may one day get replaced with a generation which can be guided by reasoning and enlightenment.
Mind you, Meles' policy was also crafted around something 30 or so years before today, if I remember correctly at one time I have heard him saying something like "we don't need quality education, rather a mass education" or something similar in end effect.
