What a journalist what great questions.
Without an independent judiciary system to have a power of saying on the issues that is crucial to the nations socio political life, without an inclusive national dialogue in peace and reconciliation, by suffocating the opposition voices as the political trend goes now, not the breaking away of only the Tigray region but the disintegration of the entire Ethiopian empire is imminent.
I don't know why for some unknown reason successive Ethiopian leaders never get a lesson from their predecessors and rectify the wrong deeds. Dergue's Colonel Mengistu and its arrogant stance pushed Eritrea to break away and made the country a land locked. Now we have Colonel Abiy of Biltisigina, who lost his social base in less than three years and who is living in his fantasy world, has been driving the country in a wrong way to the ditch.
God have mercy this time it is going to be the end.

Tigray breaking away from the Ethiopian union will be a welcome news for people of the Horn of Africa who, for far too long, have been victimized by Tigray warlords serving neo-colonial agendas in the region. Ethiopia and Eritrea will breathe a sigh of relief and demand the return of their sovereign territories illegally annexed by the lawless Tigray facing self-made enemies on all sides of its border.
Sandwiched between a rock and a hard place, the break-away republic of Tigray will suffer immense human suffering as it shrinks in size and the imposition of collective sanctions and embargoes prevent it from trading with its immediate neighbors.
But not all hope is lost....
Without access to air and maritime transportation, the unruly Tigray's only available means of generating revenue will be through its Diaspora-based Digital Weyane trolls making funny YouTube videos and earning commission based on advertising revenue. If you want to help the break-away Republic of Tigray survive, please don't forget to Like, Subscribe, and hit the notification bell.

Stupid logic.
How the fu*ck you blame mengistu's arrogance is the result of Eritrea's independence?
Mengistu, selassie or any body should not have a say on whether Eritrea be an independent nation or be forced to be with Ethiopia or any other country.
Eritrea's independence was decided not only by the fact that Eritrea was never a part of Ethiopia but by the Eritrean people determination to own what is legally theirs.
There was no way we Eritreans would have agreed to be ethiopians even if Sellasie or mengistu were saints and even make us the leaders of Ethiopia and Ethiopian.
So, stop this stupid talk or dream you still have to be a part of Eritrea by blaming mengistu or sellasie.
What the [deleted] do you have in mind mengistu or sellasie could have done. Remember that I already told you that even if god told us to be on top of the world being called Ethiopians, we wouldn't have done it.
Just swallow the bitter pill stuck in your throat and respect Eritreanism just like we respect all friendly people and countries.

Good point. The agames have a very funny way of interpreting the Eritrean struggle for independence as if it was something a result of our grievances towards successive Ethiopian regimes, much like the TPLF's struggle based around stories of resentment towards the Amhara. That's like saying, John Foster Dulles, the US Secretary of State during the 1950's, and the man who publicly said it was in the US interest to have the neo-colony Ethiopia swallow Eritrea militarily, was an Ethiopian ruler. LOL
