(Awate.com) - Can Mesfin Hagos Lead Under a Banner of “One Country, One Destiny”?

Post by Eripoblikan » 24 Aug 2020, 01:45

By Beyan Negash

Excerpt

Interestingly, Mesfin Hagos appears to have captured the imagination of these factions, most of whom appear to want him to be the leader of their cause. The Mesfin Hagos phenomenon and the potential pivot it could garner requires a separate article, which will be the third installment. Back to the competing voices for now.

Adwa-poblikan, the evil agame from Adwa,

You must focus all your attention on finding solutions to end the mass migration and suffering of your own Tegaru people. Talking about your neighboring Eritrea everyday doesn't make the suffering of your one million Tegaru refugees in Yemen and Saudi Arabia go away. You are an agame from Adwa and you must focus on your own Tegaru refugees. :P

Mesfin Hagos: Before the Egg Hatches

By Beyan Negash

This is part 2 of 3 series under the title of “Can Mesfin Hagos Lead Under a Banner of “One Country, One Destiny”? The third part will follow soon.

Excerpt:

The Mesfin Hagos pivot can be made to succeed but there are numerous other issues that he must be willing to accept, as well the public willing to be led under one slogan, such as “one country, one destiny”. The task of explaining the challenges that lay in wait for Mesfin Hagos will be entertained in my final article that will follow in a few days.

Mesfin Hagos Should Resign From His Political Party

by Beyan Negash

This is part 3 of 3 in a series under the title of “Can Mesfin Hagos Lead Under a Banner of “One Country, One Destiny”?

Excerpt:

First and foremost, at minimum, Mesfin Hagos must suspend his political affiliation or resign from it so he may lead without any political baggage overshadowing the anticipated leadership. This is the number one critically important step that he will have to take. Next, he has to recruit individual veteran fighters as well as younger generation activists whom he knows he can count on. These individuals have to fulfill the number one criterion above about not only should they have no affiliation with any political party but also must be willing to abide by the principles of transparency and accountability

Mesfin Hagos surely has the wisdom and ghedli credentials to lead the transition period post-Isaias. Like the author said in above article, he should opt out of narrow party politics and attempt to broaden his support base by appealing to the diversity of Eritreans abroad and at home.

EriP,

I did not read the article or articles. The demands made to Mesfin seem to me not necessary. Mesfin has his own views what Eritrea should look like. and that is his and his only, He is entitled to it. This is a different phase. The only thing everyone needs to agree is that the Eritrean people should choose their own destiny. Placing too much political demands now would kill it.

Brother Aurorae

It's worth reading the articles. The author expects Mesfin to fly above narrow partisan politics and focus on redeeeming the nation.
