This is what a typical agame looks like in Slum Mekele. If you don't believe me, click the link
Slum Mekelle

No need to single out Tigray, or Mekelle, when the whole of Africa is a continent of beggars led by mendicant rulers!

No need to show us either a poor woman sitting and begging on the street, or destitute people lacking the means to provide for themselves, when the whole of Africa is sitting at the bottom rung of the human ladder.

Just a thought!

What is acute in Tigray isn't the level of material poverty per se, rather the mindset that still insists a form is more important than a content... I would have sympathized with these Adwa mafias if it were a misplaced priority between providing clean water to your people or having an election.

No need to single out Tigray for such mindset, as it's intrinsic in the whole continent of Africa! The African continent has been begging for so long that its leaders and intellectuals are convinced that Africa cannot exploit her own resources for her own ends, and it has to farm it out to others; at the present time, being the Chinese.

Make no mistake It's not only in Tigray where people seem to be comfortable with handouts! The whole continent has no problem in accepting aid even from its co-residents of the misery avenue of the global village, including India! Africa had to even beg the Chinese to build a new headquarters for the AU, and guess who is paying for its running costs - Brussels!

Tigray is no exception; thus, give it a break! Just a thought!

You know what, I would have given it a break and ceased singling out Tigray, had the Congolese or Somalis or Nigeriens also shot at me with impunity after engorging too much of that GM wheat.........Any more demands, my friend?

That's ok. "We're number 1 in Africa" said the Agame wedi komarit. He's right, number 1 refugee producer in Africa. How do you my fellow Eritrean refugees are making a living? Working?

  Awusha, all Agames, Oromos, Amharas in Europe have obtained asylum as Eritreans. But the 50,000 Ethiopians in Yemen and Saudi Arabia are Agames. You see they can't claim to be Eritreans!

These trashy pictures are of Mekele, ቆማላት ዓጋመ፣ ክትወራዘያልና ከምዛ ዘይንፈልጣ ውሻጠኹም

This is what Mekele looks behind the facade

I stopped by at a gas station on my way to work and there was this agame beggar standing outside the store with a sign and he asked me for some cash. I told him I don't give out cash, but if he needs some food I can buy it for him, and he said just to get him some water. So I bought him a 12 pack of bottled water and a large pizza. When I gave it to him, he said "thanks Wesf'aatam!" :x :x :x

   He is definitely Eritrean like me. He thought "wesfa0ttam" was a nice thing to say because he doesn't know Amharic like me. He went straight from Sawa to Shagreb refugee camp in Sudan and didn't get a chance to see Mama Ethiopia.
That's him right there with the baseball cap. His name is Awet Fithi Gebray
