How should I understand the concept of democracy in this "arithmetic"?
I thought the concept of democracy is based on the idea of majority of ideas rule over the minority of the same, without discriminating against them, but respecting the rights of those minorities.
If a majority of idea is the basis of democracy, then how come 40 million people will be expected to have the same idea, just because they happen to have the same blood lineage (a kind of blood relationship, if it exists in the first place within those over 40 millions or so)?
I thought the concept of democracy is based on the simple idea that people are rational and they make their rational decisions based on their own interests. For example, this writer and the character Horus decided to go to a foreign-country and base their existence there instead of remaining at the old place where their blood lineage called the home base, simply because they made the decision based on their own personal interests and not on the bases of their respective blood lineage.
I thought in democracy people make a choice of those who should govern their affairs based on the interest of those electorates themselves, not based on where their lineage was before some centuries. If you know a precedence here for, then tell please your readers.
With regard to the assertion that:
i do agree but then I have to ask back if Addis is for everybody? If it is, then what about keeping uprooting some constantly to make a space for the others on the same place from where the formers were evicted? Doesn't the spirit of this statement contradict itself with the factual way of how Addis Ababa was maintained for many many years?
I am not taking about "beherseb" here, I am talking about people, concrete people. If you don't care about people, then you can't also care about your በሄረሰቦች which is more abstract than the concrete people themselves.
