First, the name "Abay" is NOT an habesha/Ethiopian world but a corruption of the Arabic "Abiyad".

Second, the same river [Abay] has various names within Ethiopia itself as it passes through & touches regions with different ethnic & language groups. For example, among the Oromo of Wollega & Shoa, the river is known as "Marmaro". Among the Agew/Amhara it has been known as "Gion" [again a corruption of the Jewish/Israeli/biblical place name "Zion"]. Among the "Shanqila" tribes of Benishangule-Gumuz too the river has its won names.

Maybe before trying to tell the world about this unilateral change of the name, the nefxenya scums/sh*its should check the dictionary to see if the name "Abay" is, in fact, an authentic name coined by the permanently-starving local bantus/zinjeros, as distinct from a loan word from the Arabs. OK?

I find it funny that woyanes are worried about the people who are displaced by the lake created by the dam. They say that it is important these people are compensated for any investment to flourish peacefully. While this claim has some truth, they forget to mention how they themselves dislocated so many people in the region driven by greed as this documentary exposes፥
