I think the window of opportunity has escaped. Also maybe because Abiy has decided TPLF, on its own, is not threat to the palace, he has not shown real resolve on this issue.
Some groups also may not want to see the TPLF vanquished completely because they need a scapegoat for their failures. For example,
A few weeks after the signing of the peace agreement, a few supporters of the Eri government asked Yemane Ghebreab about the border issue. He shockingly replied it's not a big priority anymore. They should have chased the issue there and there ብውዑዩ እንከሎ. But they didn't.
And here we are pointing fingers at the TPLF three full years after we were told they have been game-over'd.
