Eritrea is a group of districts taken from Tigray. Menelik gave the districts of Akule Guzai, Saraye, Hamassen and Bogos ( Kerent) to Italy to weaken Tigray and appease Italy. Appeasing Italy did not work as Italy occupied (colonized) Ethiopia for 5 years where about 2-3 million ethiopians were killed. Menelik sold Eritreans to slavery without resistance.
