are you really sure to know the meaning of the short phrase?

When a professor writes something like "His advisers aren’t truth-tellers. They’re toadies, lackeys, sycophants and relatives." and implies that America was not governed all of the last 4 years, then I am lost no more sure if the world the same old one.

The moment I saw guardian I was tempted not to open the link (any more), but I did anyway.

Just few months before the outbreak of the current pandemic America was reported in the media to have the lowest unemployment rate in about 50 years or so.

Granted that some results could be an outcome of an interplay of different factors, it could be argued here too that the result was not merely as a consequence of the current administration's policy. But denying that the policy played any role is simply denying facts and I wounder what someone would achieve, if not for anything else, just for the sake of one's own scholarly reputation.

If the current administration is a vacuum like claimed in the opinion in the article, then who created the above policy?

Admitting the strength of something and then criticizing the weakness is in order and may bring us a bit forward but out right denial of clear facts just make the situation worse, in my view.

If you feel your interests are not looked after properly in the system you are in, then I don't think creating havoc here and there is the best way to defend your lost interests either. It will only aggravate the matter for you, not lessen it.

The other point you should ask yourself is how much you yourself are responsible for your ills in addition to what others might have brought up on you. Start asking yourself first for own problems, if you really want to improve your condition.

You are listing so many shortcomings of the system but at the same time if you were offered to get there, then you will say, oh Sir please do that for me and I will be anything for you (kiberegn, yene Geta, gubo kefelek yefelekehun yahil isetehalehu, becha iza ager wusedeng). If you are already there, then you will do for any of the rest in your family or relatives.

You hate something (on the surface) but still you die for that same thing, your endless dilemma.

If the black is disproportionately disadvantaged in the system for over many centuries, then the first thing they need to look at it is towards themselves before pointing finger towards others, and this is my whole message here.

That is what is waiting the Oromo people in Ethiopia, if they don't change course in due time, mark my word here.
